I had fond memories of these too (esp the white cake!) but when I bought one recently it was really dry and flavorless. Definitely better in my memories!

Coconut! Every Sunday at my aunt's house in the 70s and 80s.

I also love the entenmann's fudge iced golden cake.

Yes, but they changed the recipe.

My favorite entemanns used to be the pound cake, but I think they changed the recipe there too. As for pepperidge farm, I miss the lemon nut crunch cookies.

Don't mean to thread jack, but my favorite frozen cake was Breyer's Vienneta. I miss those days!

Yes! Me too!

Was it Pepperidge Farm that had a box of 4 or 6 cupcakes? I distinctly remember a chocolate/vanilla/strawberry/coconut assortment. My grandmother would buy this pack and we'd split the cupcakes the same way every single time.

I love Sara Lee pound cake, frozen. mmmm. My MIL likes the Pepperidge Farm cakes and I eat them when visiting.

Just tried the Pepperidge Farm golden cake with chocolate frosting. Not what I remembered. The frosting was not dark and fudgy, but pale and sort of fluffy textured. Not very chocolatey. I think they changed the recipe.

I could seriously eat a whole pepperidge farm german chocolate cake in one sitting. I almost thought about getting a bunch as my wedding cake. Major love! I want one now!

+1 on the coconut cake. I came from a family that regularly baked from scratch, but when we didn't have time, this was a go-to -- along with the PF frozen turnovers, which were also great.

I grew up right by the Entermann's Factory. It smelled amazing when you drove by. Plus, you could purchase stuff there. I grew up eating their stuff. Haven't had it in years though. I'm sure it's not like I remembered!
