The Karen meme silences White women

Anonymous
Honestly, the only reason the Karen meme is still around is because of all the white women who are outraged by it. If y'all had just let it blow over, it would be gone by now...

I just can't with this thread. WOW.

Ummm- every race has outraged women. I see all colors of women losing their sh*t, constantly. Going to the manager is a fun/ego trip for any woman who feels marginalized. Karen is accurate but it’s also across the races.

You’re right. I’m Asian and I’ve been demanding to see the manager since I was a teenager

Exactly this. There was an expression that was dismissive of an older generation that no one uses anymore. That's because most of the people of that generation didn't care and went on with their lives. The few of that generation who did care were the jerks the expression was referring to in the first place.

I'm too focused on the murder of a jogger et. al ad nauseam to pay this any mind.

Karen is one name. Can you list the names of the black men and women murdered by police?

Classic what about-ism right here.

+1 Karen isn’t going anywhere bc Karen doesn’t have it in her to let anything go. Every time a Karen screams it’s racist, sexist, unfair, mean, derogatory, akin to the n word, etc that’s just feeding right back into who Karen is. No one feels bad for Karen or going to stop using the term bc Karen isn’t a good person to begin with. Bending over backwards to try to get people to understand why using the term Karen upsets you means nothing bc, Karen is the villain. No one cares about the villain. So either ignore it or stop being a Karen.

Don’t get me wrong, there are certainly a subset of entitled middle aged white women, however, there are other non entitled white women as well who now feel silenced after fighting to find our voice.

And now you know what it feels like to be silenced. Your privilege is RAGING, OP. What a stupid thing for someone to be upset about. Go live your life and stop caring about MEME's and Karen and other trivial bullshit. This is not a thing.

Amen! Worried that she should not complain about being called Karen and about her Smoothie! She just doesn't get it!

I’m also note surprised by the so-called “woke” people. They’re a groupthink mob. If you don’t agree with them, then you’re verbally attacked, insulted, and put down.

I'd rather be in the woke group think mob, than in a KKK mob. Where is your white wizard hat?

Exactly this. Same thing with respect to the term “mansplaining,” which implies that white men can’t engage in any conversation without patronizing women. Has an element of truth to it, serves its purpose, and doesn’t seem to have prompted similar outcries.

Deal with it, Karens, because otherwise you’ll just keep coming across as if the one thing that makes you feel slightly uncomfortable in your own skin should take priority over the concerns of people who have been marginalized for generations!

+1. I’m the black PP who said I disliked this whole ridiculous thread. The naval-gazing by OP (along with her misunderstanding of the term) doesn’t engender much sympathy.

29 pages of not wanting to be called Karen is exactly why "Karen" exists. Hilarious!

Yep!

How does it silence you OP when you are screaming about it on 29 pages? No voice? What, for real??
Anonymous
Who is screaming about it? Yes these 29 pages are a mixture of many women or men putting down middle-aged white woman as well as a number of women who find a slogan misogynistic, as the OP does.
