| If Next Level can develop a pipeline to Potomac and Potomac can feed Next Level, that would be huge for both concerned. If true, must have taken a lot to turn Marriott into an ungrateful quitter. |
| Marriott generally very well liked by his players. |
| NL needs more coaches so I think it’s a good thing. |
He was basically viewed as a dude who tolerated the Dark One for the sake of excellence in club lax. If this is true, and I think there is a good chance this is all BS, it amounts to a fundamental seismic shift in dmv club lax. |
Hyperbole much? |
| If this is nonfake news, it’s but more evidence that the fancy private wins out over the greedy clubs every time. Ya think that the Bullis DCE feud was something. Ya ain’t seen nothing yet. |
| So what if Mariott uses a NL facility? Can someone post a link? Why is this a big deal? |
I have the same question. |
| I see that NL has two tryout dates. Do they let you know after the first one whether you’ll make the team or only after the August tryout date? Looks like other travel teams seem to have late July tryouts this year. |
| Marriott is at NL. 100% correct. |
| I thought clubs do it this way so they can tell you if you made a team after the first tryout and if you made the A or B team after the second tryout. |
What team are you asking about? Some of the teams don't have an A and B; some have tryouts spaced apart and some have very close tryout dates. Generally, if your kid is a standout they will let you know right away. Remember, the teams aren't started fresh every year and if the kid is trying out for a team that has been together for a few years, than they must be demonstrably better than someone already on the roster. |
| Wrt early tryouts, it's just an attempt to lock talent in early. Mostly a tool for the younger teams or teams that need kids |
Wanna bet? |
| Garrett Ince from SJC switched to NL after coaching that strong MadLax 2019 squad. At Crabfeast, MadLax did pretty well so I'm not sure why coaches would jump to NL as their 21 and 22 teams are pretty weak. |
