Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers

Curators are not usually concerned until something happens to a piece, but conservators and collection managers think about these things. I'd say equating the errant squirt and the random projectile vomiting episode is about right. It happens once in a blue moon, and then treatment is necessary. Ideally, museums would require sufficient distance between patron and artwork for squirts of any sort to fall short. |
The "war"? So now you are a member of the army in a war against breastfeeding? Do you have any idea how ridiculous you sound? |
Have you any idea how militant and confrontational you sound? Yes, it will happen, you will be required to cover up. Too many of find it distasteful (pun intended) for women not to use cover. It isn't difficult, I did it for three. |
As has been said REPEATEDLY in this thread, that is great IF the child in question will nurse under a cover. Mine will not. She never has. She will yell and thrash around if you try to cover her up. There are a lot of things that I personally find distasteful regarding other people's bodies and personal habits, but I also recognize that those are my personal preferences and that they do not get to dictate what other people do. Breastfeeding in public is protected by law. Covers are optional, distasteful as that might be to "too many". |
11:57. Have you ever heard of pumping milk before you go out and offering a bottle? |

I just find this fucking hilarious. Why the hell is a boob so goddamn offensive? A bottle is a plastic boob with an artificial NIPPLE. Oh shit. Did I say an obscene word? I'll say it again. NIPPLE. Holy cow. How about this... a breast is just like a bottle... except it has skin, is warm and soft and has a real nipple versus an artificial one. If you're so damn offended by a breast, then you should be offended by a bottle that has a (gasp!) nipple and resembles a phallic symbol. And the next time you ladies have a night out and decide to show some cleavage, you're showing way more breast than a woman breastfeeding in public.
And guess what? Breastfeeding in public is legal. So moan and groan and howl all you want. It just makes you look ignorant and uptight. Signed, A mother of three (two breastfed, one bottle fed) |

Ok…what did you titty bearing women accomplish? Do you think you have changed anyone’s mind? It’s so funny how women are always at each others throats, but when it comes to pulling your tits out- you work together.
Most people don’t have a problem with NIP. What they have a problem with is you not doing so discretely. So this boob brigade isn’t going to change anyone’s mind. Now if you have small man-like tits you need not respond because you probably can NIP discretely without covering. Good for you. For the rest of ya, cover it up, pump, or gasp stay at home. You probably need to clean up, cook a meal, or read a book anyway. So it will do you some good to sit your butt down and nurse your baby in private. Don't listen to me though, but you probably will listen when some perv does something that they need to be arrested for. |
Haha! You have a problem with boobs. Hahaha! You know what's so fucking awesome? You can complain all you want and I still have the legal right to pop out my breast and feed my baby. In public. Nothing you can do about it. |
Others on this thread have said the same thing, and it is what those who are not educated about breastfeeding don't understand. Pumping milk is to allow OTHER caregivers (a nanny, daycare worker, father, etc.) to feed the baby, not the mother. Breastfeeding is about supply and demand. Not only must the baby eat every two hours, but the mother must either feed the baby or pump every two hours. If she fails to do so, not only is it uncomfortable for her, but her milk supply will begin to dwindle. As the mother's supply begins to dwindle, she is compelled to supplement with formula (no one wants their baby to starve), and then the problem gets worse until she can BF no more. This is a very real barrier to successful BFing in the U.S. today. Women who return to work or try to have a social life either aren't fully aware of the impact of this, or find keeping up with it outside of the home too difficult, and as a result end up BFing for only a few months or even less. Now, BFing is a personal choice, and I don't want to push it on someone who doesn't want to do it, but those who choose to do it should be supported by society. The advocates on this thread who are in support of or who attended the nurse-in believe this. They know that forcing a woman to cover-up, go into a bathroom or pump and feed from a bottle are all things that prevent successful breastfeeding for many women. You may not be an advocate, but there is nothing to get angry about here. These efforts are NOT going to result in laws being repealed or otherwise setting breastfeeding rights "backward." Ask yourself this. Would you rather have a woman in public breastfeeding her baby, or strapping on a breast pump? I think you will see less if she just feeds the baby. And what is she supposed to do with her hungry baby while she pumps? |
Fools like you are a disservice to the women who just want to feed their baby and move on with their day. That's not your motivation though. Ha ha ha, I can pop out my tit! Look at me! This is legal! Go work as a cam girl, at least you'll be getting paid for your pathetic attitude. |
Ah yes. This just shows what a fool you are. You have the misconception that women just pop out their tits because it's legal for them to do so... those breastfeeding moms just do it to prove a point. But, my dear... it's to feed their baby. That's all. My point was, I can feed my baby in public despite all of your issues with breasts. Sorry this has upset you. |
No, not all women. Just women like you who think that NIP is some sort of political statement. And the ones who take it even further and can't wait for someone to say something to them so they can go on a rant about their rights. There are many women who just want to feed their baby without the drama. They are usually the ones who cover up or who have such small breasts that it doesn't really matter because it appears that they are just holding the baby. They have no problems with excusing themselves if at all possible, and they don't care about the "ha ha ha this is legal bitches!" They just want to feed their baby and move on. If more women were like that, people wouldn't care. But they aren't so you are going to keep having this drama no matter what the laws say. But you don't care which says a lot about your motives. |
You're fucked in the head lady. Only small breasted women should be allowed to breastfeed uncovered? Get a clue. And yes, even though everything you've said is bullshit, I can still breastfeed in public. No matter what issues you have with big breasted women, I still have a right to breastfeed my baby... covered or uncovered. And yes, ha ha ha. It's legal, bitch. |
