Political Discussion
well, duh.. he hires foreign workers himself, and even married an H1 visa holder. |
Democrats do not control all branches of government. The MAGA GOP does. Since immigration is their number one issue, they can act decisively to change laws around this issue. And they already have. |
And as bad as Trump is, he's still better than Biden. Democrats would do much better nationally if they'd do anything for working class Americans instead of obsessing over activist issues. |
No, Biden is leagues better than Trump. I mean, look at the state of our economy, gas prices, job losses, spending millions on a stupid foreign war, illegal tariffs that ended up costing US consumers money not the foreign countries like Trump said they would. Trump is stupid, evil and divisive. Dems don't have any power at the moment. But, I 100% agree with the sentiment that Dems need to focus more on kitchen table issues not activist issues. -reluctant Harris/Biden voter. |

Sanctuary policies are not an abstract policy debate – they are producing a nationwide pattern of preventable violence. In New York, the refusal to honor ICE detainers has resulted in the release of 6,947 criminal illegal aliens since January 2025, including individuals responsible for 29 homicides, more than 2,500 assaults, and 207 sexual predatory offenses. ICE Director Todd Lyons personally wrote to New York’s Attorney General asking her not to release the more than 7,000 criminal aliens still in custody. She did not respond.
In Fairfax County, Virginia, sanctuary politicians released an illegal alien charged with raping a child under 13, an illegal alien charged with 17 felony counts of child pornography with intent to distribute, an illegal alien who murdered his own three-month-old daughter, and an illegal alien who fatally stabbed a man in his home – all within the past few months, all despite ICE detainers explicitly requesting they be held. In Santa Clara, California, two Honduran illegal aliens accused of murdering a 24-year-old single mother were released over ICE’s objection. In San Francisco, a Venezuelan illegal alien confirmed as a fatal stabbing suspect had been in local custody before the killing. In Illinois, Governor Pritzker’s sanctuary policies led to the release of a child sex abuser whom ICE had to re-arrest after a vehicle pursuit. In Wisconsin, ICE asked sanctuary politicians not to release an illegal alien charged with sexually assaulting an elderly victim. Americans cannot trust that the immigration system works if local politicians can override federal law enforcement and release dangerous criminals back into communities. The House Judiciary Committee has already passed H.R. 7640, the Shut Down Sanctuary Policies Act. The bill would restrict federal law enforcement grants to jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with ICE detainers, redirect those funds to jurisdictions that do, provide immunity for local officials who cooperate with federal law enforcement, and give crime victims a private right of action against sanctuary jurisdictions that released the person who harmed them. This bill is ready for a floor vote. Please send a message to your U.S. Representative urging him or her to bring H.R. 7640 to the floor and pass it. Not a single democrat will support this No US worker should ever vote Democrat |
| People don't mind H1s until their kids are in school and they will move mountains to reduce the kids' spots in advanced programs. |
Sanctuary‑policy debates deserve facts, not fear scripts. The cases listed are real, but they’re cherry‑picked from DHS press releases, and the PP skips the part that matters: ICE detainers aren’t warrants. Courts have repeatedly ruled that holding someone on a detainer alone can violate the Fourth Amendment. Many states legally prohibit local jails from doing that. Calling this "overriding federal law" is political spin, not legal reality. Even the New York example is selectively told. DHS claims 6,947 releases (by its own exaggerated numbers, which nobody else has been able to verify), but meanwhile the post omits that the AG’s office has said it did respond earlier and doesn’t even receive detainers. And some anecdotes are distorted, like the San Francisco stabbing suspect, where ICE filed the detainer after the homicide arrest, not before. That’s a very different story than "they let a killer walk." The bigger problem: these few cherry-picked anecdotes are NOT evidence of a "nationwide pattern." Texas, the only state with full immigration‑status crime data, shows undocumented immigrants have lower conviction rates than U.S. citizens. Yes, some horrific cases exist, but they don’t prove the sweeping narrative being sold here. H.R. 7640 is a policy argument, not a moral litmus test. It would force localities to honor detainers even when courts say doing so can be unconstitutional. Reasonable people can debate that. But jumping from a handful of cherrypicked, DHS‑selected cases to "no American worker should ever vote Democrat" isn’t policy analysis. It’s pure propaganda. Always verify claims like these before accepting the storyline. The PP either failed to fact check or is dishonestly pushing a very warped narrative. |
Thats no rationale to keep them here. We should never prioritize foreigners over our own people for any reason. |
There is no systemic tracking of crime data for foreign nationals, what-so-ever. Though your bias and intent to deceive is dually noted. |
