VHSL Boys 2024 Season (Discussion and Scores)

Not surprised… 19/25 of their roster from last spring was seniors, and I don’t think their JV won a single game last spring. People were over hyping them from 1 scrimmage against Madison were they still lost by 8-9, and had their starters in the whole time against Madison’s backups.

Sounds to me like there’s only 3 teams in Region C that have a shot to get the 2 seed, and a spot in states with Robinson.

1. Hayfield: kept it a 1 score game against Yorktown in their scrimmage, beat south county 10-5 and south lakes 13-7. The rest of their schedule is absolutely cupcakes. Wouldn’t be surprised if they are undefeated heading into the Region C tournament.

2. West Potomac: Put up 13 against the defending state champs on Friday. I believe that’s the most points Madison has given up since 2022.

3. Woodson: Kept it very close in their scrimmage against Freedom South Riding. (FSR went on to dominate Briar woods in their 1st game 13-3 and look like the real deal.) Woodson Was in a 2 goal game with oakton late in the 4th in their 1st game. (an underrated oakton team that is returning 8/10 starters from last spring and was up by 10 in the 4th quarter against west Springfield Friday)

Freedom didn’t play Briar, Briar played Battlefield and lost 13-3

Did they lose? Laxnumbers shows them winning 10-8.

It was 10-8 Chantilly won. At least according to the Chantilly lacrosse instagram which I assume wouldn’t make that large of a mistake in a post.

confirmed with a coach… Chantilly beat LB 10-8

Sounds like Lake Braddock’s two year run is over, back to normalcy with that program

Chantilly's not bad at all. Picked up some athletes last year who now have more lacrosse under their belt. Says more about Chantilly's improvement than LB's decline.

McLean better this year than people think.

#3 and #4 on McLean are studs

I’m not sure who has better hype men. McLean or the Yorktown freshman.

McLean at Robo on Wednesday will provide some clarity. They definitely have good pieces. Would be great if it’s still a game in 4th quarter

Not sure that would be an upset. St albans isn’t great this year. MadLax has Riverside at 9 and St Albans at 16.

Freedom beat Stone Bridge 13-3. The Woodson Scrimmage was not close from previous posters in the forum.
