Dream on. Trump is a horrible candidate and the majority know it. We want a good economy, we want our reproductive rights , we want union jobs, we want healthcare, we want the border bill, we want respect for elections, we want national security and we don't want a rapey old life-long conman in charge of our counrty and our families. Biden will win by a lot. |
Ok? There's a rive called de nile, you know. It's one thing to have a wish list. But reality is something else. How can you not look at all the polls, and the swing state polls, and notice how well Turnip is doing? But then again it's not like we expect rationality on this thread, eh? |
What percent of Biden voters are supporting Biden only because they dislike/hate Trump? I feel like there are a lot, and that his next term will get uglier if he doesn’t do something to stop immigration workarounds (eg, crossing at border check points). |
Trump is the worst presidential candidate in our history and polling data typically has a margin of error in the 2% to 4% range. This being said; Trump is the current favorite to win by a small margin per average polling data and he did outperform on election day in both 2016 and 2020 relative to the polling data from the same polling sources. There is more reason for team Biden to be very concerned and less reason to be confident at this point. This is the objective analysis of where the race currently stands. |
And this is the false sense of security that lead to shock on election night in 2016. I think a better use of our time is to figure out why Trump appeals to so many people and craft a case around Dem policies to win them over. |
Democrats have a false sense of security that Biden will win. Theyre not working hard enough to seal the deal in Nov. POC don't want to vote for him and I get that and also we are so screwed under Trump who will, against all my wishes for this place, win. |
The sky is not falling, Chicken Little! |
Heh no. There is no getting Trump voters. The gettable voters are the moderates and independents who need to be given a path to Biden. And to make sure we aren't losing the people who voted for Biden the last time. There is zero point in trying to win over Trump voters. |
No one has a false sense of security. Democrats are scared out of our minds. Why in the world would you think anyone feels anything other than terror and dread? The SOTU gave us some comfort. The Hur disaster was some more. But no, you will not find a Dem around who feels like this is easy breezy, the whole thing's locked up. First of all, we were there for 2016 - and second of all, we're just not that type of people. And third of all, Jesus almighty the stakes are sky high. This isn't something where if we don't like the guy elected, well, so what we'll get through it - this is something where the guy we're opposing is essentially an actual demon. |
Really? Turnip serves four years, if he wins. Another election happens in 2028. Life goes on. Some (many) of you need to get a grip with reality. Funny that some of you think SOTU was great when he was pumped full of drugs to be alert and read from a teleprompter but ignore his disastrous public outings in the swing states in the following days. He's an 81 year old man with all the cognitive decline of a rapidly aging man. I have more respect for the few of you who are genuinely honest about it and admit they're voting for the party and policy advisors and it doesn't matter that Biden is heading for the final sunset. At least that's honest. Just 'fess up and be honest. |
Nobody including leadership is feeling confident. I think what you see is that people aren't feeling nihilistic or hopeless. That is different from feeling confident. Biden is a good candidate. He's a good president. He beat Trump before - and there is no hypothetical Dem superstar coming to save you. Dem leadership doesn't have the power to simply replace Biden, either, even if there were some obvious replacement. What "us" do you mean here, who aren't being listened to? |
The man literally tried to steal the 2020 election by 1) creating a false elector scheme and 2) strong arming states to falsify votes and 3) fomenting an insurrection to force a delay in counting the Electoral College votes in an attempt to push the decision ultimately to the GOP controlled House. What makes you think there is any respect for "law" such that a Trump term would end at noon on January 20, 2029? |
