Hard to say at this point since I know a majority of girls form Pride and Stars who made the team turned the spots down. (I only know two who accepted). I know they are deep in their waitlist.

Ha! Most everyone who was offered a spot on orange accepted! Only a few pulled from waitlist. A lot of Stars Light Blue players. Team will be pretty strong compared to most years.

Orange will be Orange. They will continue to be ranked in the 70-80 range and play in mid-level divisions at tournaments like the previous Orange high school classes.

And Cap Orange will continue to get recruited by better schools than any other club’s B team, and equal to many club’s A teams, as always. I’d tell my DD that Capital, even their B team, gives her a better chance at getting recruited by a good school than Pride A at this point.

Capital Orange's college recruiting for the last two years has sucked. I know - my DD is one of them. The fact is that getting recruited to play in college just gets more competitive every year and the Capital recruiting director does nothing of substance for the Orange players until Blue is recruited.

We had a completely positive experience with our daughter’s Capital Orange recruiting. Commmited to a great academic school with strong lacrosse and the efforts of the Recruiting Director went beyond anything we could have expected. Of course, there is an alternative explanation for your own outcome. Maybe your daugher didn’t get your perfect athletic genes.

Lol!! I was thinking, maybe his daughter just isn't good enough? Sometimes the truth hurts. If a coach sees what they are looking for, I'm pretty sure the coach will pursue/ probably make an offer.

There are probably several things going on with the Orange team. Players who have been pumped up to believe the CLC name alone will get them the school of their choice are learning the hard way this isn’t happening. It could be that CLC isn’t helping them with recruiting or it could be they simply are not good enough to warrant offers from top D1 programs. The 2023 D1 Orange class is not strong with half committing to schools in the bottom 25 D1 teams. They could be good academic schools, but they don’t appear to be. Those choosing to play for CLC Orange wanting to play in collage should align expectations with the CLC Director early to make sure it’s the best fit for their DDs. Orange doesn’t mean you can’t get recruited to a top D1 school, but recent history will suggest this is not likely.

I like how you said they don’t appear to be good academic schools but you spelled college wrong.

Curious to know what year your daughter is/was ? Keep in mind, COVID really hurt the recruiting for 22s.

Covid definitely had an impact on many local clubs. Cap B was able to navigate this better than others because of its experience, college connections, and recruiting history. I believe all of their players committed to playing in college and did so early. Pride really struggled being a new HS program during Covid, having no recruiting director for a good part of the time, limited to no college connections, and no previous experience guiding players through the recruiting process. Their D1 numbers were low, but surprisingly they had the highest average ranked group followed by Cap B, VA Metro, and Cap O. You can't read too much into this average ranking because it is evident Cap B players placed an emphasis on attending Ivy League schools, but nonetheless still surprising to see Prides results. Cap O selections are a bit puzzling given their commits do not appear to be to the strongest academic schools or schools with strong lacrosse programs. VA Metro has some commits to strong programs including JMU and Michigan. They have some interesting commits to URI and USF, both new D1 programs for 2025. The Jacksonville coach moved over to USF after consistently having JU in the Top 20. One has to assume players committing to this program are top-level talent and USF will be a Top 30 program quickly.

Don't know your source of this information but you are definitely wrong. At least 4 players on Capital Blue 2022 and 5 on Capital Orange 2022 went uncommitted.

Another undeniable piece of the puzzle is the watering down of the Capital Orange talent pool from the additional HS programs (Pride and even local Yellow Jackets, Stars?). Much like the impact VA Metro had on Cardinal starting with the 2021s, despite the growth of the sport locally, the growth of the HS programs is much larger.

Capital Orange's college recruiting for the last two years has sucked. I know - my DD is one of them. This doesn't necessarily even reflect poorly on Capital. Some girls have very narrow preferences for college. Many are just looking at Ivies and maybe a couple others like Stanford or Duke. They going into the process saying that if they can't play for those schools, they won't play in college.

I'm pretty sure all of those Cap Blue girls could have gotten an offer from Akron or Eastern Michigan if they had reached out.

Not true but more importantly you are an awful nasty ugly as hell human being to say that (and with such glee) about a 17-18 year old kid. Expect to end up in hell when you die.

The Capital feud between Blue and Orange is always entertaining. It’s the Hatfield vs McCoys of club lacrosse.

No way this is between O and B parents. It’s an outsider being ugly as hell against a 18 yr old girl. I have no idea who it is or the girl they think they know about but it’s just really poor and vicious behavior and not something a Cap O parent would do.
