Closer to 50k hon. |
I send my kid to private school but doesn’t mean I would want to eat $1k or $2k. Also, anecdotally, seems to be more and more public school kids on the travel teams so not all private school girls. |
PP is correct. 2023 Pride Black was loaded with talent and competed well against the best teams in their class. At one point that team reached a ranking of 8th, but generally came in around 16th until this last summer when many of their players stopped attending games. That team played one of the toughest schedules in the 2023 class per US Club Lacrosse. Those girls were let down by the club in terms of recruiting. Their recruiting director left to take the head coaching job at AU at a critical time and her replacement did not work out. Several of the 2023s committed to good lacrosse programs and NESCAC schools, but they should have had more commits and far earlier. I suspect a few will still commit late. It will be interesting to see how their 2024 and 2025s do under their new recruiting director. |

in 2021 prides 23s and 24 were ranked 17 and 25.
In 2022, they were ranked 24 and 38th. Those classes have been doing well for the past couple years. |
Pride 25 is ranked 53 which reflects half of them going to CLC B. Should be interesting to see what the 26 team does as the CLC B migration seems to be about the same percentage as the 25's. |
| I would take Pride A team over Cap B team. |
Pride A is a clearly better team for sure. However, Pride's recruiting reputation is poor. If my daughter wasn't quite good enough to play for Cap. I would also be looking hard at top AA county clubs (Integrity, MDU) |
Or more. |
| Interesting that Pride was ranked so much higher that Capital Orange but from what I see online Capital Orange has about as many college commits. I guess the name of the club is worth something? |
| Not true. Pride 23 was consistently ranked in the Top 20 in the country, often played in the top bracket, and regularly played the exact same teams that Cap Blue did - with the same results. They are worlds away from Cap Orange. If you just compare the # of commits from each team, they may seem equal, but the quality is not, and that is much more important. Plus, it just shows how unfair the entire system is that a team with so many good players had such a disadvantage with recruiting, and girls that were no better had a huge advantage based on their club attachment. Pride did a horrendous job helping with recruiting, and so it is amazing how well so many girls did. |
| If Capital Orange had the same or similar results of Pride Black this really highlights just how badly Pride fell down with recruiting. Shame on Pride’s leadership and coach’s for letting these players down. Pride Black had equal talent to Capital Blue in that class. Think about this, if 16 of the 17 Pride players had opted not to stay and help build Pride’s new high school program probably half would have made Capital Blue. What would have happened to the half of the Capital Blue players who made that team because Pride players opted not to tryout. Would those Capital Blue players have opted for Capital Orange, gone to Pride Black or taken another route. What would have been their recruiting results. Capital made a huge difference in the recruiting process for players. |
Best player on Cap Blue 23? That team was stacked with great players. I don’t think it’s appropriate to single out any individual player on this forum. I also think many would disagree with your claim. |
That is a bold statement singling out a player as the best on a team who’s success was driven by playing as a team. Someone missed the memo…there is no I in team. |
But she said ARGUABLY the best player, doesn’t that make her less obnoxious? |
Silly statement. Team sports do give recognition to individual players all the time. Is Charlotte North not a team player? She is considered the best on the team. |
