Sounds like UVA has a lot of NIL money to give away.

That is not how "NIL money" works. Schools are not funded for this and lacrosse teams even less so. This would be true at both UVA or Duke. However, it is possible that a private sponsor, ECD, Nike, UA might be more willing to pay a student athlete at UVA v. Duke but the marketing for lacrosse is based on the individual's marketability not the schools. It appears that social media interest is also more important that stats or actual ability to play lacrosse.

Look for the defender to join the exodus from Duke to UVA

there is hardly any money from NIL in lacrosse...

maybe little Mark Millon thinks that way.

A school does not have NIL money to give. They can assist a prospective athlete in making connections but probably more likely in Basketball at UVA. For lacrosse, no one really knows what the potential for NIL money is. If the demand is created it could be a lot, if not a little. An Ohio State lacrosse player and local social media sensation made a video about it. He claims in his video he makes 8x what some PLL players make off lacrosse. Good on him.

He has really approached this maturely and has been working at his social media with extreme discipline for a long time. 35x8 is 280000? That's awesome for him.

lacrosse is a non-revenue generating sporting.

no HS lax star is making NIL money to blink an eye at.

maybe a player here and there can make some extra beer money

lacrosse is a non-revenue generating sporting. ---This is a false term that is often over used. The sport generates revenue. Profit?? Is another story most goes to club owners.

no HS lax star is making NIL money to blink an eye at. ---This is true, HS players do not promote the HS team. NIL money is more of a college thing.

maybe a player here and there can make some extra beer money ---This both true and false. Most HS players are not old enough to buy beer but some are in the IAC.

You need to read the thread before you comment. This discussion and the quotes you commented on are about college, not club and high school. 🙄

The schools barely give scholarships for lax but there may be equipment money as NCAA stars have higher profile than the PLL. I could see a Brendan O'Neill making some decent cash. Million or Joey Spallina too, especially with family connections. Big tasty has the personality for it. But I don't think it will be the norm by any means.

Whatever happened to the controversy re: Spallina getting sponsorship by Gait Lacrosse (which is co-owned by his college coach)?

What fall leagues are teams in besides the NL one? Any early signs based on these scores
Anonymous
Anyone here know any details on the 2022 SJC LSM that randomly switched to Towson when schools where already in class?
