Not please don't f-ing yell at us, or shut up, or shut the F up, etc.

It just starts. "Please don't yell at us".
His calm initial entrance was cropped. The first line is a calm, non-yelling "don't videotape me". Then the "please don't yell at us". The all the swearing from both sides.

Incorrect. Watch it again.
You are watching the biased version, not the whole tape.

The counter worker says "please don't yell at us". ( Implying that yelling had happened but that is not on the tape.

Then he says. "Don't videotape me".
. Ah, sorry found the version you speak of. I saw the "You have no room to yell at us" one. Your version is still cropped and he was still calm and obviously calmly was pointing the implicated smoothie. I wish there was security footage of his initial complaint. It doesn't seem fair to only show it late in the conversation.

Can you all share the link to the longer video with the rest of the class?

Yeah those first few seconds don’t make him look any better.

Definitely not. Only way to skew the perceptions of what went on here is if a person has not watched the video. The incident is there in all its glory.

Is the guy in the video a trumper or would they carry on about his "poor treatment". Regardless if he was a dem?

Nobody said anything about his politics, did they? All we know is how he feels about immigrants.

I did not think so but it was said fox news coverage is sympathetic to this bully.

I said the comments section was full of whataboutism, as if the existence of black criminals meant this guy should walk.

I just rewatched the entire (longer version) of the video and he was definitely the one who escalated the situation. The girls asked him calmly “please don’t yell at us” but he continued and started yelling F-bombs at them. The girls got very upset and confrontational when he made the “immigrant” comment. I don’t blame them. As POC they are sick of the entitled, racist white dudes who think they can walk all over poor immigrant girls. He deserved to lose his job.

Again, please provide a link to the whole tape which you have seen and makes him look rationale.

He's a rich guy who had it all and literally threw it all away. On video no less.

American society loves these kind of downfalls.

Also, the guy made it about race/nativism with his bigoted comment. He started the racial angle.

If a good parent did take their kid with a peanut allergy to Robek’s, he would watch the preparation of the smoothie like a hawk. If the good parent was unsure of the safety, he would address his concerns as a rational adult because remaining calm is the best way to get answers and models appropriate behavior to his child.

+1 to all of this. If there is a severe allergy, you have to take more precautions and not assume others will take care of it for you. And it sounds like he didn’t even mention the allergy, just said no peanuts? So there could have been cross-contamination

“Work through their trauma”?

AYFKM?

This is one of the things that’s wrong with this country. Assuming that people are so fragile they’d be scarred by a shouting match with some a-hole. Life is FULL of jerks like that. If people sought therapy every time they encountered one, they’d never have time to do anything else.

The Russians and Chinese are doubled over in laughter at how soft this country is becoming. It’s shameful.

I believe the Russians and Chinese do not have as many insane people shooting or killing people there unless, of course, it is their leaders doing the killing.

This is over the top but I agree with the basic sentiment - no, these girls did not experience “trauma” and they should be just fine - they certainly seemed like they could stand up for themselves and acted overall pretty smartly (though the one who engaged him and yelled back probably should’ve just stayed quiet…)

This type of crap happens often, sadly.

I was on the train with my 12yo the other day and while we were waiting a large man suddenly yelled at one of us in a threatening and racist manner. I moved us to another spot. A short time later two men started a fight right next to us. Dd was scared and I got her out of the situation as quickly as I could. After she’d calmed down I talked to her about how there are many many people who are mentally unstable in this country and how you have to be strong, not show emotion, move out of or deescalate a situation. Getting upset or angry is just fuel for the angry/crazy people.

This guy is a pos and definitely deserves to get fired. The girls deserve accolades and hopefully a bonus and raise, and they will be better equipped to handle future asshats who come their way.

It is not for you to say what a victim of a crime felt or experienced. You don’t know.

My son is anaphylactically allergic to nuts, and if someone had served me something with nuts by mistake, I would have chills down my spine. This is how people die. This is how my son ended up with a major anaphylactic reation one day when a restaurant served my husband a dish with peanuts by mistake, and he gave my son a taste of it, thinking it did not contain nuts.

So I understand his fear. Sadly his fear revealed him to be a racist bully. Taking a tone and reminding the server that certain mistakes can be deadly would have been sufficient.

Dumb white mean didn’t tell them there was allergy. He just said not to put peanuts in it. But he didn’t say all ingredients had to be 100% peanuts free.

It’s likely you are a smart parent who would share with providers that it’s for someone with a peanut allergy.
