Don't order food or a smoothie from a palace that has peanut butter or nuts even if they are not in the drink ordered .Simple as that. This is on him.
In a restaurant even if the server knows it and the chef knows it, the food runner and other severs might miss it, and ofcourse there's cross-contamination. |
I am not saying what the guy did is right. But posters claiming that you can safely order in a restaurant using "special techniques" like limiting your choices, carefully reading ingredients, or making inferences on the names of products are delusional. |
| Ianazzo is NOT an Anglo-Saxon name . |
Dumbest comment of the thread . |
Exactly! It's not like they lacked the means to make their own smoothies . Lazy losers much? |
Yes, there are lots of observations about his Italian family suffering the same thing generations ago that he did to this girl. |

First of all, why is "immigrant" a horrendous insult? I never thought of immigrants as a bad thing, and many men marry even marry bottom of the barrel if she doesn't have a green card. Sophia Vergara fakes an accent because being an immigrant is so advantageous. When a woman (like Vergara) who is an unwed teenage mother has an accent, she's a role model/sexiest woman/etc. If an American-born woman is an unwed teen mom, it's "black women are so irresponsible/wh0r3$". How is that not racist?
How is not racist to say it would be okay if James had an Irish last name, but not an Italian one? He's obviously very remorseful and apologetic, which can't be said about Gianna the teen who's gone through 3 customer service jobs (now 4) in two years. What percent of American-born teens think "because he's allergic" means he didn't mention an "allergy"? Most people taught English in this country think "allergic" is a derivation of "allergy". |
It's not okay to scream at anyone and call them a stupid immigrant. People are merely pointing out the irony of someone who's obviously a decendant of immigrants to come at these girls for being immigrants as well. No smoothie shop employee is charged with knowing the degree of anyone allergies. I am allergic to pollen, but can walk outside in springtime without calling 911. The dumb dad ordered the drink without peanut butter but did not ask the staff to sterilize the equipment because his son has such a severe allergy that even the slightest cross contamination could kill him. Perhaps he's truly remorseful, which would be great. But chances are he is expressing his abject remorse because he is still trying to salvage his reputation and is still facing multiple charges. But if you take his remorse as sincere, then why don't you accept his assertion that what he said and did was wrong? Why are you trying to blame the employees when he is not? |
Agreed. The entire thing is ridiculous. When it comes to something that can risk your health, why leave fate up to someone who has absolutely no skin in the game! Scenario, I make $10 an hour to make a smoothie, your kid gets sick, the worst-case scenario for me personally I lose my job, maybe you sue my employer, oh well, your child is still worst-case... scenario dead. The man is an entitled meathead no excuses! |
While at the same time, a mom on another thread is being criticized for wasting time making two kinds of muffins to accommodate the multiple food allergies within her family. |
Two things can be true at the same time. Go cry somewhere else . |
