Carrie would be good looking in NYC. Her background would be more of a problem than her appearance. Women in NYC aren’t that good looking. They tend to be thin and wear expensive labels. But compared to women in other cities, they aren’t that attractive. I moved from a flyover city where I was probably considered average and received an incredible amount of attention from men in NYC, including successful men. Friends from this flyover city would visit and would experience the same thing. Part of it was that men in NY are more aggressive, but it was also that the competition was lacking. Go and ride the NY subway around...people aren’t that attractive in NY.

Hmmm We were in nyc for weekend and there were many attractive women and men. It has 20 million people. Not statistically possible to be all plain.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder … I would find Carrie attractive in any city …. She has creative stylish sophistication, Jen e sais quoi and a unique sparkle ….

I think Angelina Jolie just has a very French look -- actually so does Gal Gadot (who happens to be Jewish but just doesn't have a specific Ashkenazi Jewish look) - both tall, thin, dark hair, smaller noses, etc). So if that is the standard of beauty, then SJP, WS, and LL won't look like them.

I am an Ashkenazi Jew, and I am very amused by this. I don't thunk SJP is ugly, but in my Ashkenazi Jewish circles she wouldn't be considered drop-dead gorgeous. That distinction would go to someone looking like Amy Irving.

But her looks circa 1970-80s were the first thing that came to mind when I thought of drop-dead gorgeous and Jewish. There are many beautiful actresses who are Jewish, but their beauty is more of a mainstream kind.

The subway is for peasants. Poor overall aren't attractive because of dental care, lack of health care, obesity rates, nutrition, and hard labor -- and of course lack of money for expensive clothes, plastic surgeons, hair, etc.
