Vivek's a grifting a-hole and idiot. There's a huge amount of documented evidence that this was planned and orchestrated by Proud Boys, Oathkeepers and other MAGA groups. There are emails and communications about it for weeks in advance. There is evidence that Roger Stone and other people in Trump's inner circle met with and plotted with the Proud Boys and other rioters. FBI, DHS and other agencies received numerous tips from concerned friends, family members and neighbors of the people who went. Many of the people who got arrested came prepared with tactical gear, weapons, encrypted radios and so on. They didn't NEED FBI encouragement or entrapment, they DID THIS ENTIRELY ON THEIR OWN. And anyone who like Vivek wants to ignore the mountains of evidence is either deeply delusional or a lying grifter. |
What, do you think a 40 second clip of a bunch of MAGAs shuffling across a room in the Capitol somehow makes the hours and hours and hours of video showing violent MAGAs assaulting police, smashing windows and doors go away? It doesn't. It. Does. Not. |
Y'all cain't take away mah freedom. |
And he is promising to do it again. Exactly why the 14th Amendment prohibits insurrectionists from holding office. |
I have wondered since that day how many people got away who did have weapons on themselves. I know they had more stashed in Arlington, waiting for a signal from the insurrectionists in the Capitol, but so many people were allowed to just walk out that after the Trump-delayed assistance finally arrived. |
they were just tourists

Ah yes one of the Proud Boys arrested more than two years ago. I always look like this as a tourist, don’t you? |
“Trump has frequently insisted he called for 10,000 troops (sometimes it’s inflated as 20,000) to keep the peace on Jan. 6, 2021…Christopher Miller, then the acting secretary of defense, testified under oath to the Jan. 6 committee that there was no such order for troops from Trump, according to the report. But two days before the violence erupted, Trump insisted that he should accompany protesters on a march to the Capitol aimed at blocking certification of Democrat Joe Biden’s presidential win, according to testimony from Max Miller, who was a White House senior adviser at the time. That’s when Trump ‘floated the idea of having 10,000 National Guardsmen deployed to protect him and his supporters from any supposed threat from left-wing counterprotesters,’ recounted Miller, who said he told Trump it was a bad idea.” https://news.yahoo.com/trump-did-float-idea-10-004609956.html Trump suggested using National Guardsmen to protect him and his supporters while they marched to the Capitol, but was no official order through proper channels. |
