I agree that she has no room to comment authoritatively on Black culture but Jen has always posted about how she loves Michelle even when she was still entrenched in conservative circles. I wouldn’t say she’s oblivious in that sense. I would argue Oprah has had a bigger influence as well especially when you consider all of the Black authors and artists that she has championed. I am a Black woman but I am not American so I probably have no room to talk either. Tyler’s mom may just have an unimpressed looking type of face. She may not feel comfortable with technology. Why does Jen call her Mrs Merritt; who knows. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t mutual respect there. |

Agree, and with a cute country twang, not surprised being from Texas. She is clearly obsessed with her state, like most Texans are. She comes across sweet and funny to me. Not trying to push a product and touch her hair 5 billion times. I liked her comment "this is weird for me". I genuinely believe she has never done that before and has no intentions of doing it again. Not her thing even though she did a fantastic job in my eyes. JEN. IS. NOT. FROM. TEXAS. KANSAS people. Jen is extremely sarcastic herself and a fan of lowbrow humor. She repeated multiple times in her All the Dish promotion how her sons look like “dirtbags” in a picture in the book. I don’t get what there is to learn from though here. Maybe if Jen gave Tyler permission to post of a picture of Jen asleep and drooling on the subway, I could understand a sarcastic “semi hot” comment but without context, it just comes across as verging on emotional abuse - little digs to bring down someone’s confidence. Maybe Tyler is threatened by Jen’s fame like Brandon was and now the cracks are starting to show. |

It’s interesting that he doesn’t really name her, tag her or mention her on his account outside of big moments like her birthday and her book launch. But when they went to his friend’s movie premier, there’s no post. Today about Colorado Springs she described their convo and included that he referenced her as his white girlfriend (in context) blah blah. You go to his post and he’s anonymized her: I recently had a convo and he didn’t go into the same explanation she described.
I wonder if he wants to keep his ig clean of their relationship so that he doesn’t have to delete or have that inside his “professional” account. |
