Which would you choose for a birthday dinner? (NoVa)

We are going out without DS. I am debating between Villa Mozart, Bellisimo, and 2941. Have been to 2941 but not the other two. Where would you go and why? Open to other suggestions as well - preferably Vienna, Falls Church, or Fairfax.

I don't know either of the first two, but my first suggestion was going to be 2941. I've really enjoyed the times I've been there.

If you don't mind driving into Alexandria, there's also Eve or Vermilion. Haven't been to Vermilion since the chef change, but I've heard it's still good.

Or what about Trummer's on Main?

I like 2941 because it is formal yet modern. That cutesy old-world vibe can get to you.
However, I have read good things about both Trummer's and Villa Mozart and never been there, so I'd go to one of those.

I also like Nostos in Tysons and, surprisingly, Harth in the flagship Hilton. The dining room is very beautiful.

Nostos - food is good but tables very close together and hard to find.

Harth is total corporate. Not really warm for a personal celebration like a birthday.

Bellissimo in Fairfax City- we went for my husband's birthday and the waiter sang in Italian.
Food is upscale and exquisite- environment- friendly.

Trio Grill in Merrifield. Fabulous food, drinks and atmosphere. I liked it better than 2941. Haven't been to your other two options, though.

Trio is very casual compared to 2941.

OP here. Thanks for the input. So no one likes Villa Mozart? I thought I had seen that place praised up and down here - maybe it was one over-zealous poster?

We may do 2941. We've been there but I just think it's so beautiful.

Another one I thought of is Sea Pearl. What do people think about that place?

DS is doing a kid's night out in Fairfax so Trummers may be a little far.

Villa Mozart is awesome. 2941 is good, though I haven't been there since they remodeled and changed the menu. Sea Pearl is nothing special - you can take your kid there.

If u want a more historic location do Bellissimo.Across the street from the Town Hall in Old Town ,Fairfax. Phenomenal food.
