Why not?

Also wondering. Haven't been to Bellissimo in years, but it was incredible. Has it gone downhill?

Bellissimo is wonderful - truly fab food and lovely atmosphere.

Trummers or Bellissimo

I'd probably go with 2941.

I have a few friends who really like Villa Mozart, and I think Tom Sietsema of the Post has also praised it.

I'm a big fan of 2941, but haven't been in awhile. I did dinner at Sea Pearl a few times when we lived nearby - I liked it, but I didn't consider it in the same league as 2941. (and i did take my child there.)

Cafe Renaissance in Vienna would also be a great option.

My neighbor just went to a birthday celebration dinner at Bellissimo and raved about it.

Yes, my vote is Bellissimo.

Villa Mozart if you want more modern fusion (smaller portions) and Bellissimo if you want upscale traditional Northern Italian.
We've gone to both for special occasions and both are great.

This is OP reporting back. We were planning to go to 2941 but at the last minute I decided I wanted to try something new so we went to Bellissimo. It was ok. I didn't find it terribly special. Maybe we hit it on an off night. The food was pretty good but didn't knock anyone's socks off (my friend was pretty unimpressed with her calamari entree) and the service was fine but didn't wow me.

Oh well.

So sorry it wasn't great. Am surprised- I am the one who has gone twice for birthdays and have had wonderful experiences. No singing? Seems many others have had great experiences like mine- check out their Open Table awards & YELP reviews...try again, I guess?

We went to Bellissimo for our neighborhood monthly dinner out. (wW have a group of 10-12 of us that go out to dinner monthly). Based on this discussion thread- we tried it and could not possibly be more happy. We went on Sunday and there is an older Italian waiter who serenaded us with his voice. The food was perfection- love the ambiance- we will definitely return!

I still think that all the praise for Bellissimo in this and other topics is being written by one and the same person related to the establishment.

Are you joking? Someone keeps expressing that sentiment on many of the links I have been reading- especially the Private School site- is that all you?

Someone doth protest too much
I am not in the private school demographic and don't read that forum. Surprised that "these people" validated my observation, LOL.
