I hope I am wrong, really. But what if she does these things with a sense of devil may care, just so she can make these ponderous, virtue signaling and dramatic apologies?
Who, with any common sense, would say what she said about large people? It's just weird and cringey. I am overweight but don't see myself as a teddy bear for a total stranger.
She has done this before and we knew it was coming. It's just so weird that she has her "tribe" well trained to become near orgasmic when she does apologize.
I have many faults and none of us is perfect but this over the top narcissism is just hard to watch.

I thought about maybe it being intentional but I think it's more likely that she just thinks that she is above criticism and that everything she says and writes is witty and funny.

Aren’t I hilarious?! But seriously, guys. I’m such a good person, those enormous, meaty, bulky, clearly unhealthy, poor souls are worthy too! Even when they try to move away from
me. I’m like, ‘Get back over here, Fatty! I’m SAVING YOU from embarrassment.’ I’m so funny, y’all!”

Jen’s corn-eater tribe: “I’m fat!!! Can I fly next to you everywhere you go?!”

GROSS.

I think you nailed it, and her apology post is not much better. It has major "No, really, I LOVE Black people! I have Black friends!" vibes to it. Loving someone means that you open your ears and understand that the main harm was in talking about larger-bodied people in a way that made it seem like they should be grateful she doesn't treat them as bad as those other people who cringe and shy away when they are seated next to one.

There are 1001 ways to make fun of the way planes have shrunk seat size and available space without ever bringing sizeable people into the conversation.

She always posts about airplanes. Even her apology post HAD to post that she was writing in an airport. News flash, we’ve all been on airplanes. It’s not that unique or special. I have a feeling maybe she was poor growing up then had five kids and was still poor. And now she has started frequenting airports in recent years and feels like she has to post every time she’s in one.

Imagine being a person close to 50 years old and thinking that airplane travel is some sort of flex?

Why does she try so hard? Isn't it exhausting?

See wrote a book about being Free but her lifestyle seems so desperate and manic and exhausting. So much posing and performance. The opposite of Free.

Through my ILs I know a lot of people (including them) to whom air travel still seems indulgent and mysterious. They’ll drive to Disney or their cruise and that is the only way they travel. I suspect there are many people like that out there.

All of the women replying to Jen’s apology post with, “Why are people so sensitive?!”, and “I thought it was funny!”; are the exact same women that have been yelling at us for the past 5 years that “words matter”. It’s further proof that the current progressive white woman savior social justice warrior movement is ALL B.S. They (and I put Jen at the top of this list) don’t care about people. They care about getting praise for speaking (just speaking, not even actively supporting) the “right” marginalized people. Fat people on airplanes? Not popular enough. Therefore, ‘it was just a joke! Lighten up!’.
Could she have made a similar careless post about a transgender person? Absolutely not.

It’s all B.S.

Yep. It's all about the appearance of being good and right and virtuous. Below the surface these performers are just as nasty and judgmental and awful as anybody else.

They like to preach one thing but privately do another.

As they love to yell our to others, Do Better!

oh my the comments in the apology post. Someone posted a word salad about "violence" in Jen's post and it stayed that bad for hundreds more comments.

I feel worse for her followers, trying to find something redeemable in the OP and the apology. Jen needs to take a nice long break from sm in general and reassess her life.

Thank you. I was going to write what you said but you said it much better. Someone who cares about people wouldn't have written the original post worded that way or written that apology or edited the post incrementally 3 or 4 times before apologizing!!

This whole thing negates everything else she has been saying about caring about anyone marginalized even if those posts said the "right" things.

Why does she? She already wrote a "manifesto" where she declared herself Fierce, Free, and Full of Fire!

She's been rather quiet since her apology post.

I would think so after being raked across the coals on Twitter. I just read through all of that. She and Glennon are tagged over and over. Maybe now, she'll step back and see how she comes across to the masses.

Here’s a link to a post from Jen in 2018. Wow. Weirdly similar sentiments. It will probably get deleted as well. https://www.instagram.com/p/BoposuMFOHi/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=
