Where do you buy your jeans? Enough with the low-rise jeans already...

I have spent hours looking for a pair of jeans---Norstroms, Bloomingdales, Macys, TJ Maxx, etc. and can't find a pair of jeans that will fit me properly. Everywhere I go, I find mainly low-rise jeans! I am sick and tired of low-rise jeans that reveal just a bit too much when I bend over, and anyways, I am no longer a teenager---I don't know what is going on with fashion right now, but it has been impossible to find a decent pair of jeans. Any advice?

Where are you? Go to Denim Bar in DC, Bethesda, or Towson. What about Nordstroms? The sales people there should be able to fit you with a great pair that meets your needs, just tell them what you are looking for. The Levi store in Tysons will make a custom pair based on your measurements. I also think that the Gap has non-low rise jeans for every body type.

Another way around the bend over problem with low rise jeans is to wear a longer top! This is what I do, but in my case it is mainly to hide my post-baby abs! Empire waists, even in tops, are still kind f in right now (they were very in last year; hopefully by the time they are not I will have gotten some killer abs).

Those of us with short legs and waists want to keep the low-ish rise jeans!

My favorite pair of jeans right now is a pair of Levis from Wal-Mart.

I just put this in a post the other day. I've never been one to think of jeans as my most comfortable pants I own...until a couple of weeks ago I tried on Jag jeans for the first time in the petite dept. at Nordstrom. While I really like all the ones I tried on, I ended up buying a pair that were on the higher waisted end and they are hands down the most comfortable jeans I've ever owned. Very stretchy and look great, too. The best part is that they were $80. I've tried the "premium denim" a couple of times. About a month ago I had a Nordstrom sales woman trying to convince me that a pair of Joe's Jeans looked fantastic on me (to the tune of $175) and that all the moms buy them these days because they look so great on everyone - even after you've had kids. (She was a mother of two, so I didn't get offended by her saying this.) I'm sorry - but I just couldn't be convinced. I thought they were very uncomfortable and made my butt look huge. I think those jeans work well if you are a size 2 or 4...which sadly I'm not so much of anymore.

Beija Flor jeans are the best.

Black Levis from Sears. Men's. They fit the middle-aged fanny.

Yup, I love them actually.

Try Ginger style jeans from 7 For All Mankind. They are higher waisted with a wider leg and very stylish. I love them!
