| And try Ginger in Bethesda--Fabrizio Gianni jeans. SO comfy and so not low rise. Pathetically, the only time I'm not wearing them is when I'm washing them! |
| I second the post about Old Navy. I actually like low-rise jeans, but they have a range of rises and lengths. I've tried more expensive jeans and these still fit the best. |
| i love fit of my Banana Republic "countoured bootcut" and i was a huge fan of my lucky's (i can remember the fit, but it was bootcut, lowish rise) until i wore them to death. |
| I just got a pair of jeans from Madewell in the Tysons Corner mall. First of all, they were $100, which is way less than the ridiculous prices I've been paying for "premium denim" and they are sooooo comfortable and look great. Love them! Plus, Madewell has this deal where if you buy 3 pairs of jeans, the fourth is free. |
| Ask Jessica Simpson. She had on some killer high-waisted jeans at the chili cook-off. |
| I also like the Mossimo brand from Target. I've also had luck at Eddie Bauer. |
Why? They make your legs look even shorter. |
not so... it's a matter of proportion between leg and rise |
| I like Eddie Bauer jeans. They make sort of a mid-rise. They hit below your belly button, but your arse doesn't stick out when you bend over. Perfect for me, and not too pricey. |
| Another vote for Old Navy. I can't believe how well they fit! |

I wouldn't go to the Gap. The last jeans I bought there were my usual size, and they fit in the store fine. But after a few days of wearing them, they became too loose, and for some reason I swear it's like they are a size bigger then they are supposed to be. I've washed them so many times to try to shrink them -- still big. Now I can't wear them because they are too big -- what a waste of money. (Believe me, I hadn't lost weight, it's the jeans.)
Where can I buy decent low-rise jeans (like right below the belly button, not way below)? |
| Regarding Mossimo jeans --I notice that their sizing is different than other jeans companies...I wear a 7 in Mossimo and a 2 in Gap. Strange, huh? |
|
Maybe you could buy them wherever you buy your favorite pants? For me, my favorite pants are from Banana Republic - they fit me the best. Their jeans fit me well, too. I've also had decent luck at Gap.
I end up wearing low-rise jeans sometimes because I have a 10" difference between my waist and my hip measurements and it can be hard to find jeans that properly fit without being momlike. sometimes it's just easier to find jeans that ride a little low and fit at the hip. I wear them with longer tops or sweaters. If you're willing to spend $108 on a pair of jeans, I love Lucky Brand regular-fit boot-cut jeans, I think the model name is "Stella." Buy them in Virginia if you can, vs. DC - cheaper taxes. There's a Lucky store at Tysons. Ralph Lauren has jeans (the Saturday jean) I used to buy, but I don't like the way they fit as much as my Luckys. They're cheaper on sale, though, and not "mom" jeans or low-riders. |
| Christopher Blues from (I think) Nordstrom. I believe they were once on Oprah's fave list. They are cute, trendy, and have never once caused me to sport a plumbers crack. They are a bit on the expensive side (around $150) but totally worth it. |
Mossimo jeans are in the junior's department -- a 7 is junior sizing. |
