It doesn't have to be one thing or the other. It can be - and is - a mix.

But it is offensive for all these lazy mediocre white people to pretend that blacks invented race-based preferences.

No. It is known that arrogant, supposedly liberal whites created race-based preferences as they think blacks needed the help because they are inferior, and in providing overt help would blindly secure their votes for years to come. You know what? It worked. You fell for it.

OK, Mr. Birch. You are clueless. Race-based preference is what kept blacks down for all of U.S. history. Why does removing that boot off their necks terrify you so much? I’m from Mississippi, so I’ve heard racist bullshit my whole life. Yes, it is always the lazy mediocre white people who are obsessed with keeping blacks in their place. They know they can’t cut it without that white privilege carrying them.

We have all had bullshit thrown at us our whole lives. Sometimes people just don't like you, sometimes a bully decides you're going to be their next target, some of us heard short jokes our whole life, or jokes about our religion, or were from the "wrong" part of town, etc. etc. etc. and so on. Why is it Hispanics, who arguably hear as much if not more than the blacks in this country still manage to get ahead? The main reason is they pretty much stick together as a FAMILY, with a strong father in the house, same as Asian households. Two parent households and education are pretty strong predictor of successful outcomes for children. Why is it only one minority in this country cannot seem to get ahead and claim white privilege? I don't hear Indian or Middle Eastern or Asians or Hispanics blame white privilege and are able within a two or three generations to get ahead. Think about it.

LOL, what? 62% of children live with two married parents in the U.S.

Two parent households by race
Asian 85%
White 74%
Hispanic 67%
Black 33%

LOL

It's hard to have a two parent household when we lock up about 1 in 3 black men sometime in their life. In no way is household formation a inherently a function of one's race/ethnicity.

Maybe if they didn't commit so many felonies they wouldn't go to jail so much?

So why do you think they commit so many felonies? Do you think it's genetic based on their race? What is your explanation?

You sound like a racist.

I'm not sure what argument either of you is trying to make, but I'll say...

Generations of poverty (due in large part to official government policies that intentionally kept it that way) and a police force that was statistically much more likely to lock up AA offenders than other races.....we are where we are.

It isn't inherent, it is the legacy of racism.

Whites use the big lie about Africa, writing our great civilisations out their histories to claim that colonialism was necessary.

African civilisation was thriving while the Europeans were living with their pigs.

Yes, the legacy of racism has led to generational poverty and a culture which keeps many people trapped.

The poor black immigrants seem to be doing very well. It’s the poor black families that have been here for generations that seem stuck in the cycle of poverty.

It is a cultural problem pure and simple. Racism isn't preventing women from waiting until they are married to have children. Racism isn't preventing kids from learning to read at grade level. Racism isn't making people join gangs and murder their peers.

Correct. Our collective culture as a country, and the subcultures of certain racial communities, that emerged out of a history of racism have resulted in educational and economic inequities that DE&I initiatives in part are attempting to correct.
