Wait a min. Is Matt the target or subject of the investigation? That’s unclear. The investigation began under the Trump administration, but the reports about the investigation were leaked under the Biden administration, which is a crime, btw. Leaking grand jury material is a crime. Gaetz said the DOJ told his attorneys he is a subject in the investigation and not the target. Subjects may be witnesses in subsequent trials, and thus their identity should not be leaked.
Grand jurors themselves, court interpreters, court reporters (stenographers), the “operator of a recording device,” “a person who transcribes recorded testimony,” and “an attorney for the government” are banned from disclosing grand jury material. State and local officials and other government attorneys are also generally banned from releasing federal grand jury material. IDK what Matt has been up to, but also, I don’t think this thread is great, either. He may be a pedophile or under investigation as a target but none of that is clear as of yet. Also, someone broke the law leaking this info. |

It’s pretty clear that Greenberg is the target and the feds uncovered stuff about Gaetz during that investigation, but now Greenberg - who’s a monster IMO - is cooperating.
