I can’t believe I feel compelled to defend MTG, but I agree it’s a mischaracterization to describe that tweet as “very disrespectful”. It’s so disheartening that the protection of women’s rights is in the hands of looneys like her, but that is where we are today.

Cannot believe that any woman would support this bill. I remember when Title IX was first implemented. I think most of the women are younger and do not understand how hard fought those rights were.

And I’m so, so glad to see faux feminists latching on to Title IX as the end all be all to “women’s rights.” You guys don’t care that the GOP is gunning for abortion (and birth control if they get the chance), you don’t care that the recession has gutted women’s jobs and lives (especially minority women), you don’t care about any women’s issue at all but this one obscure wedge issue that affects a tiny minority of athletes in high school and college?
