She is going through obvious menopausal weight gain. Combine that with no longer having the White House pressures of life she has gained some weight. She also doesn't have stylists anymore (I mean she totally could I suppose but I assume she doesn't have people picking out her clothes every single day for multiple events a day as she did before) and that freedom has lead to some errors. It also looks like she is reaching for loser fabrics that flow and its a completely wrong move. When you are heavier you need cleaner lines with more structure.
