+1
I've gotten so spoiled by binge watching everything. This weekly business is for the birds!

I don't want to incur the wrath of people who think discussion of the book ruins the thread.

I will say that the essential elements of the show are the same and the book will still be enjoyable once you know how it ends. Madeline spends a lot of time in her head trying to figure people out. It's a bit like the distracted driving you see in the opening sequence of the show.

This already happened on the show so it's no spoiler. I just don't remember it from the book.

Yes but if we book readers say that it doesn't happen in the book then it kind of rules out Ed/show director/wife as the murder victims or murderers.

Which is exactly why people have asked others to stop talking about the book on this thread! You have your own thread!

Yep that's why we book readers are keeping a lid on it.

The first time it happened I thought it was just a weirdly shot scene but then it happened again (twice I think) in the last episode and I'm super confused!

I saw that, too (the weird looks at Abigail) . Maybe that is why she left to live with her father.

What happened to Celeste and Perry's nanny? She hasn't been in several of the recent episodes. Is she no longer working for them? If so it makes me think Perry's abuse has escalated beyond the occasional flashback.

I brought this up in a previous post, the initial look Ed gave Abigail looked creepy, and then he acted as if he was trying to shake it off. And then in another episode he makes a weird comment to Bonnie about liking to look at sweaty women after her yoga class. He seems like a creep.

How old is Abigail in the series? For as exceptional the casting is for the lead women and kids, I find the men (except Perry who is perfect) and Abigail to be a little off.

I'm beginning to think the book readers aren't the brightest bulbs!

I was wondering about this too. Surely the nanny had been privy to some of the abuse, or at least, suggestions of it?

The kids don't see any of the abuse so either does the nanny. Nanny is only in the scenes with the kids.

I think Ed abused both of the daughters, and their behavior (Chole's "grown" discussion, Abigail's "project") are sad consequences of the abuse.
