Confederate Battle Flag

Interesting that all your ire is directed at the workers and not the folks that exploit them. Most of the illegal workers were paid less than the minimum wage. Yet according to your logic, the folks in Alabama are lazy bums because they won't work for those same wages.

Yes, seriously. Pay people enough to want the job. That's capitalism. Not starve them until they agree to work for nothing.

Why do so many of our military show the stars and bars if it is so bad? Just sayin....

Me again - and you'll note this all started at the UC Irvine campus...don't think for a moment these two movements aren't related.

Guess you didn't read that link. Doesn't show a lot of support for banning the US flag.

Huh, the students wanted no flags at all in the lobby space, including the US flag, in order to make it welcoming to students and visitors from all nations. And the resolution was not approved by the board, so the flag(s) stay. Seems like a non-story.

That article is from March. That is not "now" and is completely unrelated to this topic. BTW, you have been accusing liberals of wanting to bring down Nikki Haley. Buy Ann Coulter attacked her for being an immigrant who doesn't understand America -- though Haley was born in the U.S. Whose side are you on -- Coulter's or Haley's.

It really is funny to me that folks here are still Liberal and progressive bashing when most of the folks publicly calling for the flag to be removed are Cons - including the GOP governor of the state and the GOP senior Senator of that state.

Seems to me that there should be little question that the flag be removed - especially if I were a governor of that state. Tourism generates about $16 billion annually in SC and about 10% of its workforce works in the industry. It is the state's biggest industry. Why would you even give the impression that certain folks are more or less welcome than others? And there is a big push in SC to lure business there. Morality and politics aside, it makes no economic sense to keep flying such a divisive flag.

There's a ton of racists in the military. Did you not know that?

A flag is easy. Racism, not so much.

As you have written that...it was absolutely true on a large scale in 1933, today it is nonsense.

I see it happen daily. I've done it myself, sadly.

When the Dantes get an interview as often as the Davids, with identical resumes, then I'll think we've made some progress.

Education and the criminal justice system.
Those are the two areas that have SERIOUS systemic racism wrinkles that need to be ironed out.

And they both significantly impact life-long employment and the ability to create wealth.

Still, personal choices remain and will always remain the most significant impact on everyone's life.
