My brother works for SNL and said the demand for 2/28 tickets is going to be astronomical. Taylor Swift level.

Seth Myers said the exact same thing when he had Storrie on his show a couple weeks ago.

I think women have gone crazy about this show because unlike in a traditional straight relationship, here neither partner is considered lesser than, or is solely responsible for the emotional baggage of the relationship 🤷‍♀️

Consider...

Both partners are financial equals with equivalent careers and are fully financially independent
Both partners initiate and host the other
Both partners are fully into exploring sexually and being directed on how to please the other (and doing it)
Both partners accept being ghosted for 6 months and still carrying on
Both partners are fine with no exclusivity and having other sexual partners until the I Love You Stage
Both partners are fine with only minimal communication and occasional contact for years
Both partners want a sex focused relationship for years before building anything emotional
Both partners are physical equals so they can throw each other around without risk of injury or fear
Both partners are allowed to be equally emotionally vulnerable and emotionally supportive - no gender roles that harm both sides.

There are a lot of factors in same sex relationships that are different from heterosexual relationships.

We're severely deprived of dopamine apparently. And starved for unproblematic men who aren't afraid to be vulnerable. That’s my explanation for the stratospheric success of this show.

Yes, this. They are equals in every possible way. I love it.

Ilya would be very problematic if a woman posted on here about him…!!

She would be told to dump him immediately!

Not me. Ilya is the most eligible of men: gorgeous, talented, successful, rich, great in bed. A little tortured so needs a little fixing, but hey, life would never be boring with that boy.

You just have to be okay with 5 years of booty calls, no commitment, no exclusivity, poor communication, being ghosted, being ignored, being told you are boring, him being an a-hole, and walking in the door to 'get on your knees' visits before you get to the tortured soul part!

Well, since Shane didn’t want a committed relationship until 10 years in either, it worked out great for both of them.

Of course, because it is a Harlequin romance novel! It just isn't real life. If a woman posted about Ilya, she wouldn't be told to stick it out for years and maybe some day she will get more than a high STI risk booty call every few months!

If someone posted and said I’m dating this really hot guy who doesn’t always treat me great but I don’t wanna marry him and I don’t wanna bring him around my family and I don’t want to bring them in public. I really really just want to hide him from the world. They would tell her you’re gonna get what you got.

None of the reasons you listed are why I like the show.

I love how they touched feet to show they were there for each other.
I loved how they showed that Kip lived completely different life than them because he could be out.

I loved Kip’s dad.
I loved how the two girlfriends were super supportive.
I love how they showed your parents can be completely supportive, but also not know how to support you.
I like how they showed some people no matter how successful they are come from really screwed up backgrounds.
I like how they showed that an older person coming out was setting a pathway for them for the future.
I like how the mom apologized and he accepted her apology.
All three main characters won the cup and all three main characters were happy for the other one when they won.

There are just a few things that I really loved about it

Although the fandom is insane and are harrassing these guys, part of their insanity is that they obsess over every single aspect of the show and this has a somewhat positive effect in that they have brought attention to the musicians, cinematographers, costumers, etc and may other smaller players and cast involved in the production of the show that usually don't get heard from.

I was watching videos from a videographer and it was really interesting to learn about how they shoot different kinds of shots, and lighting, and the LED screen etc.

Sometimes I want to watch pretty boys emotionally mature and have hot sex. Simple enough?
