Texas GOP redistricted themselves into losing seats, and now they are upset that Democrats aren't as incompetent

Hmmm Meatball Ron may want some of these people to lose 🤔

They've pushed gerrymandering about as far as they can without risk. Early on (can't remember which districts), Texas took 2 solid red seats and turned them into 5 moderate leaning seats (max +5). It would only take a gentle blue wave to flip all 5 seats.

Blue states are just getting their redistricting toes wet. Red states are maxed out. The untapped potential of a blue tsunami is within reach. Hope DeSantis held on to those white rain boots!

+1 this is all Trump’s fault

You mean democrats haven't been gerrymandering for decades?

God, you're so dumb.

Now I know why that Indian medical student was able to make $ from MAGA morons by creating some AI MAGA sk*nk while he couldn't fool the left by trying it with them.

Notice here someone brings up the valid point about Dem gerrymandering (see, e.g., all of New England) and the response is not a good faith debate but rather a torrent of nasty personal attacks.

You saying this, is like a drunk driver complaining about a jaywalker. The very point of MAGA is worshiping a pile of dogsh*t whose entire life is being vulgar, You worship vulgar. Trump personally attacks EVERYONE. It's why Republicans made him your God.

Notice that PPs have brought up federal level anti-gerrymandering laws that had Dems support but Rs wouldn't support it.

And Trump was going to bring down prices on Day 1.

We have asked Republicans for 10 years to ban partisan gerrymandering. And for 10 years, Republicans have said no.

What they’re just mad at is that they have been accustomed to a Democratic Party that rolls over, doesn’t fight, and takes everything sitting down.

Virginia Judge Jack Hurley in Tazewell County, VA, just enjoined the defendants in a complaint over the referendum.

It's going to VASCOTUS who will uphold it.

They rejected this judge twice before, btw.

Please. "All of NE"? Meet: Texas, GA, NC, SC, FL, MO and others. There is gerrymandering on both sides but near as much or as brazenly for political purposes as R's do it. You know why? GOP can't win without it.

4/23/26 Tuesday’s edition of CNN NewsNight

Abby Phillip responds to a panelist: So, wait, are you saying that you don’t think that Trump starting this is a good enough rationale for Democrats to finish it?

Let's roll the tape...

REPORTER: On Texas, how many more seats do you want the Republicans to draw?

TRUMP: Five.

REPORTER: And then what if California, New York, Illinois, and other blue states decide to do this?

TRUMP: Yes. Well, that’s okay, too, but five. I think we get five, and there could be some other states. We’re going to get another three or four or five in addition. Texas would be the biggest one, and that’ll be five.

REPORTER: So, are you calling for a complete redrawing of the Congressional map ahead of next year?

TRUMP: No, just a very simple redrawing. We pick up five seats.

PHILLIP: He actually said there, you might have missed it, he said — he was asked if California and other states did it. He said, that’s okay, too.

Just because Republicans can’t win in New England anymore doesn’t mean those states are gerrymandered. Half of the seats in Maine and New Hampshire are swing seats. Connecticut has two swing seats out of five. Vermont only has one seat at all. In Massachusetts the Republicans are too geographically diverse, and their map was voted on by a majority of Republicans in the legislature and signed by the Republican Governor.

Furthermore, the red states that have zero blue districts comprise way more of the House than New England.

This is actually great news because it means that the Republicans have already basically maxed out their advantage and the Democrats have a lot of seats to redistrict blue.

So Democrats should have just... accepted it and let the GOP do what they did in TX, NC and MO?

Also lol NE is not gerrymandered 😂

The Democrats are going to definitely flip one in Utah and least a few of those others. Keep an eye on Iowa and Nebraska.
