And yes BLC OWNS M&D DC!!!!

You mean the top 6 from Pride who is ranked #80?

I was referring to the 6 from Pride that went to M&D DC hence why NL was stated in the comment.

My point was to give you a dose of reality, as M&D DC/NL has never won anything ever and has a terrible recruiting record. It isn’t a layup that kids stay on there, and I know a few of the best ones are already looking at Cap Blue and other better programs. You do need to convince them to come over, maybe beat them finally?
I'm sure they'll take it all under advisement.

Judging by the comments and the families I have talked to, most seem that they are going through the same calculation that I laid out above. Will your kid be one of the ones left on M&D DC as they fade into rankings obscurity after players like 17 and 14 leave or will you and the program convince the best BLC players to come over and your best to stay? Those really are the choices. HG, the real M&D, CM, YJLI, 91 roar, etc will all improve their rosters, even if you keep all NL girls together, that squad will never compete with the top teams in HS. You absolutely need those BLC girls. You know, the ones that always beat you.
Keep grinding on all the due diligence. Do you show up to the games and interview parents or something?

You are not a lacrosse expert in piecing together middle school to hs clubs or evaluating them in toto. Or are you? CV?

The good news for all the folks in both programs is they've each got talent and they're right next to each other.

Not an hour's drive away in many cases, hoping and praying enough other players from lower programs come out to play and play well enough for what looks like now a mid 20's club team (and dropping) in Capital.

Hmmm... leave a top 10 team to join a hodge podge 20's+ team who plays in lower brackets, scoring 4 goals a game in front of nobody on back fields against teams in the 30s. Where do I sign up?

I think drawing attention to specific players, whether positive or negative, is a disservice to this platform and to the other 29s. I heard many great things about other great players on the MD DC squad and to highlight only two who may not even be the best on the team sounds pretty immature. Looks like you may be a parent of one of those players trying to draw attention to your daughter. If not, then let's keep this platform civil and informative.

Civil and informative? Have you just entered the forum? It is all but those 2 things however I do agree to leave specific players out of it.

Basing your decision on 8th grade rankings probably isn’t best course of action. Pride 28 ended the year ranked 7th in the country and almost their entire starting line up moved to Capital Blue, which as many people have pointed out is ranked in the 20s. And yet, we all know those girls will have a much stranger recruitment chance on a 20 something Capital team than if they had stayed together on a number 7 ranked Pride team.

Why do we all know that? You are making assumptions based on Capital being the Capital it was a few years ago. The program is slipping, parent after parent comes in here to repeat that. Or should we only listen to the information you provide?

Most, some, strawmen, whatever. Why do the Cap boosters love to compare any and all situations to Pride? Why do they continue to believe a lower ranked and can't-score Capital is going to have college coaches drooling as they play teams even lower than them?

It's 2025 and the recruiting years up are '27+. Not 2021, or 2023. Not a whole group of players who are literally in the same location/part of town. Pride whatever year didn't have a program with one of the best to do it in the area for years as a coach and recruit contact for both the high school team in SR and in handling a club team year in MCE.

You guys really should focus on getting better results from the teams you actually have now, as has been advised repeatedly. Or is that healthy baller clinics' job? How many of the top orange players displaced the bottom blue players in the 2027s after last year? Or did they just keep going by a several day tryout a year earlier?

I agree the program is slipping. Even if they fall to 50% of where they’ve been and only send 11 girls to a D1 program instead of all 22, that still significantly over indexes what Pride has been able to do recruitment wise.

More and more, it's sounding like they've been getting terrible coaching. And college coaches have been able to look past that, probably due to their performance on high school teams and their contacts with coaches there, especially the privates.

I agree with the earlier post—keeping the strong players at MDDC, along with a few more top BLC girls, will make MDDC compete with the best of them. If these girls are truly top in their class and get some guidance from KM, this team has serious potential. While there may not be a long-standing precedent for recruitment, if these players are as strong as they claim, the process isn’t rocket science—send film, reach out, and follow the steps others have taken before, even without a dedicated recruiter. The addition of a recruiting director only enhances the process. Nothing is out of reach if you stay committed and work together for something great.

If the good one all stay together and play for MC Elite, they will thrive. The DC Metro 2029 group is very strong. Stars has some adds in there as well.

M&D DC has no recruiting record they are not NL and you can not attribute the lack of recruiting of NL to M&D DC. The rebranding should help and that comes with the support from the main club couple that with the Director KCM who knows the game and has shown has the connections to high-level coaches and knows how to get the girls recruited both at SR and while she was at MCE so I'm not sure how big of a gamble it is.

MCE died several years ago they are as irrelevant as rebels and renegades at this point possibly worse...
