So to recap:
- AC Milan comes over to set up an academy in VA - They subcontract out to Red and Black Pumas, LLC to run this academy - The subcontractors mismanage the venture and end up firing most of the staff/coaches, or coaches leave on their own accord - questions about money are swirling - The two subcontracting business partners fall out and one sues the other citing mismanagement of money - AC Milan (Italy) cuts ties with the one subcontracting partner left standing (the defendant) and enters into a new subcontract with the other business partner (the plaintiff) - Meanwhile, AC Milan (Italy) is telling families that although they will honor the upcoming spring season for any families who wish to stay (with no concrete answers to logistics on what league they will play in, who will coach and what fields are available for training), they cannot discuss any refunds for families who choose to exit the club because Subcontracting Business Partner #1 (Defendant) has all of the money that has been paid for the year and they no longer have a business relationship with this person. So this guy has all of the money that all of the families have paid for the year, delivered 1/2 of a full travel season and is just keeping the other 1/2?????? Make it make sense - and why would AC Milan (Italy) not be on the hook to refund this money to the families?? It was their job to manage their subcontractor. |

Because Italian football clubs, even the big names, are tin pot clubs. Look at how they conduct their transfer business. "We will give you 15 eggs, €400.37, and an option to buy for €10,000 for a loan of your player valued at €50 million. And you pay all of his salary whilst on loan to us." |
What did the email say? -Curious bystander |

If I was on a monthly payment plan, I would stop payments but keep my child enrolled assuming they will still have a team for spring.
How were the NCSL team fees paid for spring, if all the money was stolen by the defendant? |

Hello AC Milan Academy,
I want to provide everyone with an update around AC Milan Academy. As of just now, the agreement between AC Milan and Black & Red Pumas LLC (Dario Scatena and Ali Dean McDaniel) to run AC Milan Academy has been terminated. A new agreement between AC Milan and DMV Athletics LLC (Ali Dean McDaniel) has been agreed upon to run the AC Milan Academy. We know there will be many questions, but with the hard work of parents, staff, and former staff we have been able to get the desired outcome for the academy to operate properly. We are currently in full force to have a successful spring season, and it will take help from everyone. The new academy will put the focus back on the kids, creating a positive environment to learn both soccer and social skills. We will restore the relationships with other clubs, coaches, and parents. I know this is just a brief email, but it was vital to get the highly anticipated information out to everyone. Fields: Fields have been allocated but not distributed yet. Will, Kyle, and I are the only members of the foundation associated with the field permits. It is just a matter of the county switching the name associated with the account. NCSL: We are in conversation with NCSL to continue the spring season as planned. We are optimistic they will agree. Coaches: We are at the advanced stages of bringing back an AC Milan Technical Director and hoping to bring back some of the former coaches who were previously let go. Playmetrics: Unfortunately it is unlikely we are given access to the current system, however, we intend to open a new Playmetrics page which everyone who plans to remain with the academy for spring will be moved to. Existing Payments: All paid registrations will be honored for the Spring and no additional payments are needed from anyone for services you have already purchased. There will be a lot of positive changes in the very near future and all questions are welcome. With the help of all our wonderful families, Team Managers, and motivated staff, we will make this project succeed! We appreciate your trust, and patience during this transition. |
| Why wouldn't the NCSL let the teams play? |
|
The NCSL votes to let orgs in. So if the ownership changed, the vote in might not be valid.
Also, NCSL has deadlines on field submissions. If the permits were not issued to the correct entity, they can't send in their fields. Finally, if the first guy stole all the money, how is the new ownership going to pay NCSL, field fees, or pay the coaches? |
| My read of the email is that families on the monthly payment plan can stop paying and play for free this spring. Is that how you all read it? |
Thats what it sounds like, but how will they pay the coaches? |
The longest payment plan they offered was 8 months so if you signed on for that payment plan in May/june/July 2024 when they made offers and started training, you would have already made all of your payments. Not much leverage left. |

Maybe there was a settlement. Maybe the investors are taking a chance and investing and it covers the costs.

Exactly one year ago to the day, I received the below "DISCOUNTED" invoice for FOUR three-hour sessions that were billed as a "tryout" for AC Milan. Upon receiving it, I laughed and posted here to run far, far away from this scam. Sorry to hear that some didn't listen. Anyone who sells required uniforms and gym sacks for a mini-camp or tryout is not in it for the love of the game or development.
