You're saying he should be grateful that they lied to him and cheated him out of money?

Again --- yet to be proven they lied. In his bio he described it as a conservatorship. They are saying he got his money.

So the book, the ghostwriter, describes it as a conservatorship….. think about it. It’s not a stretch to think that he hardly knew the really detailed contents of the book.

+1

How much of the book did he actually “write”? Any?

As a practical matter, if your legal claim is significantly based on “I didn’t know X” and your autobiography says “X”, it’s going to be tough sledding for you. What, his ghostwriter was in on it? Any reasonable observer should, based on this evidence alone, conclude that the most likely scenario is that Oher is full of BS. Maybe not, but that’s the smart way to bet at this point, for those who need to have a view on the question.

and it's so humorous that most of us disagree with you and believe the Toueys are full of bs. Thanks Singer Slinger for telling us how we should "bet" on this.

The Toueys are fake creeps.

Sure they probably are. Certainly patting your multi millionaire self on the back so much and so publicly for taking in a homeless kid is pretty ridiculous.

But they didn’t rip off Oher. He wants their fast food money. Can you point to even one financial document that shows they made even a million off of him? The SEC filings show they made $200 million off the fast food franchise sales. The 501c3 charity records show they drew no income from the foundation. The movie studio records show the family got $700k total over 10+ Years which they claim was split but even if not that’s not big $$ for either family. So where is the actual evidence they made millions off him? And how would they have planned that when he was a teen? If he was just a business for them then so far he’s been their worst investment.

They apparently didn't do their due diligence and didn't submit paperwork for the conservatorship ever. Yeah, I believe everything they say...

Every other sentence is about her being an Advocate for Adoption. What's that about since she doesn't know anything about adoption.
Liars.

Gross. Sounds like some Trump tier deception. Guarantee all of that is cleaned up and edited. As for how they benefited, they became famous household names because of this fake adoption story! That fake leads to higher status, their foundation, speaking engagements, and [more] business deals.

Assume the family is bad. Even then this is pretty one sided against Michael. He was never lied to. He got his money until he said he did not want it and then it went into a true for Michael’s kids.

How much money is on the foundation? How much coming in and going out a year? What’s the overhead and administration expenses? Nonprofit isn’t just about taking salaries, for many it’s to dodge taxes, leasing racket, influence, seek favor, and swing grants to cronies.

From an interview Leigh Ann gave

"Not everyone can adopt a 6'6", 350 pound African American young man. I tell people he's hard to buy clothes for, he eats a lot, but there is something that everyone can do. We all can make a difference," Tuohy said.

She said the movie 'The Blind Side,' which portrayed her family's story, was surprisingly accurate as to how Michael Oher ultimately became part of their family.

"Exactly like the movie portrayed, we drove by him on the street and did one simple act of kindness, we turned our car around. And the movie was scarily accurate. They did a wonderful job with it," she said.

From Leigh Anne's webpage

"Your new new e-book, Making It Happen, is out just in time for National Adoption Awareness Month. What inspired you to write it?

I wanted everyone to realize that yes—adopting a 6′ 6″ 350 pound African-American young man is a wonderful thing. [Her adopted son is Michael Oher, formerly a homeless teen, who is currently left tackle for the Baltimore Ravens.] If you have the resources and ability to do that, you should. There are 400,000-plus kids in foster care waiting to be adopted. But there are other things you can do as well to make a difference. My new book tells you how you can be a giver. It talks about really turning around and realizing that the view behind you is a whole lot different from the view in front of you."

From her website...

As Tuohy tells it, they already had a pretty crazy life when Michael came to live with them. She had a very prolific interior design business at that time. Husband, Sean, was broadcasting 82 games a year for the NBA, and Collins and SJ were heavily involved in sports and school.

“We were chasing our tails already. I tell people all the time, we were not looking to adopt,” she remembered. “The thought that we would go find another kid and bring them in – if you had asked me at the time – I would have said ‘yeah right.’ But God had different plans for us. When you are in the heat of the battle, you don’t look back until you are through it and think – ‘how did we do that?’”

They're pretty comfortable ignoring what God tells them to do.

The right thing being manipulating a talented homeless kid in going to your alma mater?

Seems like it worked out pretty well for him.

So we all should just shut up and ignore the fact that this was all one big lie and they led an 18 year old at risk kid astray. Wow, what great people they are.

I would agree with you but so far there is no lie. He knew about the conservatorship. He is lying now in his petition. You can’t put it your book a decade ago and now say you did not know.

Also how was he led astray? He did better at ole miss than he would have other places because they took care of him because of the family. When in college he got into a fight with a fellow player. During the fight Michael threw a desk or chair and it hit a toddler who was a kid of an assistant coach. Toddler was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Kid was ok. Ole miss coach got Sean. Sean paid a financial settlement to the assistant coach’s family. Sean also hired a lawyer who shot down the police investigation. Ole miss did not throw him out as they would have great player or not because of the book and the family. He was not led astray.

And he played nfl football and made millions for himself. Who knows what their motives were or why they were advised to do a conservativeship over adoption but there’s no reason to assume he’s a victim here.

Why would they if they never did anything with it. I mean they should filed but I can see why they did not.

Can you identify one thing in Michael’s favor in this case? What would it be?

As much as they may be self-promoters and a bit much, there has been nothing so far that indicates they did anything wrong.

It didn't benefit them at all.... yet it's spammed all over every website, media outlet and every public appearance they ever make. lol. They exploited this kid for personal gain, controlled the narrative, and then tossed him to the curb. CLEARLY they were never going to put this fake "son" in their estate. THAT is why this kid was never adopted, they didn't want him to get a piece of the family fortune, after they got famous, higher status and wealthier off of him.
