GZ undisputed champs. Hey St Johns go lick your wounds. Landon is tops and god is purple at least tonight so go BLANK youselves!

That's a big turn around.

Great game by both teams.

St. John’s goalie is very good. St. John’s needed a player that can win a FO.

Those affiliated with military road need some humble pie.

That had some absolute monsters this year. Best attackmen in the area, the best middle in the area, the best pole in the area, and the best goalie in the area

Agree. This was a special Landon team and you could see this team was building towards the end of the 2023 season.

Landon was better at the attack, more athletic and deeper in the midfield, better coached at the defensive end of the field (even I'd take Prep's defensive personnel over Landon's), and extremely disciplined between the "lines". On top of that, Landon's goalie, who is not even going to play in college, is the best goalie in the IAC.

Prep lax is in trouble next year as they are graduating a strong 2024 class and their JV team was embarrassing this year. Expect Prep to hit the "transfer portal" hard this summer and bring in some out-of-town boarders as the cupboard is rather empty.

Landon will be the favorite to repeat in the IAC next Spring. Bullis will give them a run for their money with their 2025 class.

Good for Landon on the win but aren’t most of their best kids all from pretty far away? It’s not like it’s actually a team from the immediate area. Maddox helped bring in kids that shunted his own sons to the bench. In the end though, a win is a win!

This is totally true. Landon’s admissions requirements were thrown out the door. Their team was the 270’s or whatever and it was all a fraud.

Stop the BS. GPrep recruits for boarders. GZ and SJC both recruit for sports heavily. Its all a game. Landon is the least offender of those four. Welcome to prep sports.

WCAC Final Rankings
1. Gonzaga- beat sjc when it mattered at brought home the trophy. Great season all around from the Eagles.
2. SJC - beat Gonzaga earlier in the season but lost when it mattered. First DMV lost in many years.
3. Dematha- after a terrible start to the season, the Stags rallied back and turned their season around losing by 1 to SJC. Shows how close they were to be able to win the trophy.
4. PVI- brought it close to DeMatha in the quarterfinals all around above average season from the boys in VA
5. Good Counsel- got absolutely destroyed by Gonzaga in the semis. That’s all I’m gonna say

Who brings home WCAC Player of the Year?

My kids graduated in 2017 and 2018 so haven’t been following the local lax scene as closely. It’s funny to hear people say, someone finally beat St Johns. The team that was unbeatable back then was Gonzaga. St Johns was just starting to rise but was average at best until then. I’m sure the hiring of a new coach at the time had some impact, but really a pretty remarkable run if you ask me. Not something you see all that often, a team get and stay that good.

Big turnaround for GZ. 2 years ago they had suspensions, then losing to a small VA public school. Everyone crushed them on here. Good to see them and the new staff bounce back. Congrats.

Landon recruiting kids who live off 270 is throwing admissions requirements out the window? Prep has had Canadians and a fogo from Richmond living with an assistant coach. SJC had kids coming from Annapolis.

Landon did a great job finding kids that fit their model of multisport athlete. Landon has won a bunch of IAC titles this year with those kids playing key roles in many sports.

Give them credit for putting a great team together. Like it or not, Landon is historically the area's best team, and reports of them falling off were premature.

Hopefully the last 6 or 7 years is the way things will remain, with multiple teams being on top (Landon, Bullis, Prep, SJC, Gonzaga) so we can enjoy a lot of competition in the DMV.
