Hi all. New to the area. So glad I found this forum! Can anyone recommend a good dermatologist in Northern Virginia? |
Nancy Bruckner in McLean is top-notch. I have five other friends and family who see her too from each other's recommendations. Only problem is she doesn't accept insurance. I get a much smaller amount reimbursed from my insurance company and I have to file the paperwork. |
I can't say enough good things about Nancy Aria in Alexandria. She was recommended to me by a friend who has seen her for a while. Her # is 703-461-7500. I believe that she takes most insurances; mine is BCBS Carefirst and I didn't have any trouble with her taking that. |

I wouldn't say that was a glowing review.. mixed.. |
Kinda shows you can't trust 1 anonymous posting. |
Dr. Moses Albert 3020 Hamaker Court Suite 504 Fairfax, VA 22031 He's a little vain but he is the BEST!!!!! |
I also really like Nancy Bruckner. The office is very upfront about what an initail consultation costs. Just call for current rates and then call you insurance to see what they will cover. If you can afford the difference or your insurance covers it all I would definitely go to her. I have been to several over the years and they don't compare... |
Dr. Fran Rotter near Tyson's. Her husband is a dermatological surgeon and practices next door - also great. Dr. Fran's PA, Cecilia (?), was also very good. |
Do a search on these boards for Fran Rotter before heading in that direction. |
Cannot recommend Dr Rotter- fast, brief, impersonal- not thorough.. |
Rotters' impersonal; office staff rude; Celia, the PA is nice and friendly but left a scar when removing the wrong tissue to diagnose.
Stay away from Moses Albert - vain is too mild a word for this man who leaves people waiting for over two hours with no explanation/apology and then hurries you thru what is supposed to be your comprehensive exam. Tough finding a good dermatologist that is still accepting patients |
Dr. Rotter told my friend that she has "old lady liver spots". After watching them for 7 yes, my friend insisted that she do a biopsy. Guess what? Melanoma. When the surgeon (dr. Rotter's) husband saw my friend he said something like, "wow! That's a big melanoma!" based on this, I would not go to dr. Rotter. I have been told that Dr. Marty Horn is excellent and plan to make an appointment with him. |
Dr. Saundra Seaman
8505 Arlington Blvd # 210 Fairfax, VA 22031-4630 (703) 846-0076 She also has an office in Bethesda, MD, but I don't remember the address. |
