| It isn't only about Jews, but other groups as well. Sometimes when you say something about a person who happens to be from a certain group, you are called all kinds of racist and insensitive. I am not the OP of that thread, but to an extent I agree. |
| Because that's a productive use of time? Are you bettering humanity with this question? Are you adding any value? |
| PP???? |
I think difficult discussions are productive if they're handled well. We have all sorts of issues communicating across racial, ethnic and religious lines. While we stress being PC, political correctness often leaves little room for growth, as there's a stigma against bringing up uncomfortable situations to work through. It's best to "tolerate" a situation or a comment and then move on. But tolerance doesn't mean acceptance. So we're back to square 1. What's the sense? I have to agree with the OP of this thread. |
| I wished the genocide threat was unlocked. It really needs to be discussed. How many Israelis hold these views and is it gaining traction? |
| Yes we should go back to simpler times when overt obtuse criticism of an entire race, religion, gender, and sexuality was accepted and commonplace. |

I'm not sure what you mean. Everyone criticized Anthony Weiner for his stupid crotch shots on twitter. Nobody said those critics were anti-Semitic, did they? Because they were criticizing his actions, not what religion he may or may not practice.
If you are linking someone's actions to ethnicity, nationality, sex, or religion, you are right to get pushback. |

If you criticize Israeli politics - and US support- you're viewed as an anti-Semite. This very point has been raised again and again on these boards. Even if you try to ARGUE - which means you're discussing both sides using credible evidence that's balanced - you can't win b/c emotions overshadow reason. same is true for the threads on Islamic covering Every time a valid reason is raised, someone quotes from the Quran. Again, emotions win over reason. We're not criticizing people; we're examining beliefs which MAY box people in. And sadly, in many cases, there are blurred lines btw religious beliefs and politics. Being too PC is dangerous, as it assumes we're to accept some poor behaviors from certain groups. |

If you look at it, the number of jews advocating genocide is very very small. The number of Israelis is smaller. Number of muslims, somewhat higher (because there are many more muslims than jews).... Even the people that advocate for ethnic cleansing are not advocating for genocide...there is a difference between expulsion and murder. 9I am not advocating for either). If you want genocide, look at ISIS, not Israel. |
| The anti- Semitic card is play when there is no other response. Example-why does Israel target and kill children? Answer- you are ant-Semitic. |
No, answer is they target militants -- the militants are attacking Israel in civilian garb...and the children are caught in the crossfire. |
I really do not see a difference b/t ISIS and Israel. I just do think Israel would force someone to convert to the state religion. Israel expels the people from the country. |
