How convenient that there is no 7/31 on the dcps calendar. Anyone else using those paper blue and white dcps wall calendars? They actually forgot to put in the 31st of July! It's been bugging me all month.

I dunno. If they had to spin it, why would Gray be there for a live announcement? Wouldn't they just release it in the middle of the night (so to speak).

Mayor Gray to Announce 2014 DC CAS Results
WHAT/WHO: Mayor Vincent C. Gray and representatives from the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education (DME), the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), the State Board of Education (SBOE), DC Public Schools (DCPS), the DC Public Charter School Board (PCSB) and DC Public Charter Schools (PCS) will announce the results of the District of Columbia’s Comprehensive Assessment System (DC CAS) for the 2013-2014 school year.

WHEN: Thursday, July 31, 2014
10 am – 11 am

WHERE: DC Scholars Stanton Elementary School
2701 Naylor Road SE

BACKGROUND: Administered annually to District students in grades 3 through 8 and grade 10, DC CAS exams are designed to measure student proficiency, performance and growth based on state content standards. Students were tested in math, reading, science and composition in 2014. Results are statewide and represent both DCPS and PCS.

I'm interested in the individual school scores. I'm particularly interested in how Brent Elementary School and Maury Elementary School compare to Janney/Key/Lafayette/Mann/Murch. I'm also interested in whether Tyler Elementary School and Amidon-Bowen Elementary School improved significantly.
