Is French manicure tacky?

Anonymous
On short nails, soft white, natural pink top coat? Nothing extreme, still tacky?
I don't like colors on my finger nails and looking for something simple and neutral for manicures.

When I get my nails done I have them do two coats of clear polish with one coat of very pale pink; no white tips. Simple and neutral!

I just do a very soft, almost clear pink. No white tips. Very subtle.

No, I didn't think so ... Are white tips out?

White tips are now and have always been tacky.

To me French manicure equals sex worker. All girls doing oirn either have that or red nails.

+ 1 this is what I do. I think a French manicure is really dated. I didn't even have one for my wedding 9 years ago because I thought it was dated then too.

+2. Dated and I think they've always been tacky. One sheer coat of white of light pink plus base and top coat is the way to go.

OP! Just pick whichever shade of pink appeals to you! Dont be a sheep who just does whatever everyone else does. Do what makes you happy.

Something like Essie Ballet Slippers.

Essie Mademoiselle is sheer and pretty.

Just about every brand has something with the word "ballerina" or some reference to ballerinas. Those are usually pale shads of pink for this purpose.

The pink has to match your skin tone. So take a bunch of pinks and hold them next to your hands.
