Yup. Don’t want any competition because that means they actually have to coach and not rely on recruiting |
It's not just coaching. Clubs like recruiting talent from other clubs because it's cheaper because you don't need to have multiple youngers teams used for identifying talent. (Less coaches, less fields, etc) |
It's not as simple as you make it out to be. Because even players on non-playoff teams have plenty of opportunities for exposure in GA without making playoffs. There are conference level talent ID events where the best players from every team attend. These events attract colleges near the conference because it's a quicker, smaller event with only good players. Every GA team goes to the Playoff Showcase even if their team is playing showcase games not playoff games, it's still at the same fields. If there are college coaches you've been in contact with they will watch you play they don't care if it's a playoff game or not. Key here is you have to do the legwork to establish a relationship before the event, they aren't likely to just randomly watch a showcase game but that's not really has most are recruited anyway. There are non-league events (Jeff Cup, Penn Fusion, PDA) which are good recruiting opportunities that both ECNL and GA teams will attend regardless of their records. There are plenty of opportunities for exposure in both leagues, even for non-playoff teams. If you do the necessary self marketing, reaching out to coaches, and are a good enough player, recruiting can happen for anyone on any team in ECNL or GA. |
fantasy world again |
Delusional |
Not left ... only every had one because they deny any new clubs entry into ECNL every year from Wisconsin. And FC Wisconsin isn't the best team at any age group in Wisconsin - even with the benefit of being the only ECNL team. |
Having had kids go through the recruiting process, my experience with getting recruited is force ranked as follows
A) Individual child proactive reach out to schools they are interested in B) Club advocating for kids to colleges of choice C) Talent ID events (Hawks, individual schools ECNL/GA id’s) D) Showcases/playoffs (more to see kids from the categories above, VERY rarely do coaches wander past a game and say I want to have that kid I have no file on) E) Any recruiting service. My experience is these are a waste of time. Just my experience YMMV Additionally, the number of D1 recruits at either GA or ECNL is vastly skewed to the 80/20 rule. Top clubs in either platform will put disproportionate amount of kids in programs while bottom half teams get few looks. hawks will get 10+ and FC Wisconsin will get 1 or 2 if any at all. So parents who brag about being on either platform that are not one of the top ~50 clubs are just coat tail riding…….. |
Sounds like they are going from Mountsin conference to Texas conference……. |
So Real Colorado is leaving mls next.
Probably we’re threatening the girls side and decided to sacrifice the boys. |
No way the boys side can be happy about that. Mass exodus incoming |
Odd to choose to play in a lower league |
Good - some of these girls teams far outweigh the boys teams and it's nice to see a club step up and recognize it |
That’s why they moved to Texas. Texas has some decent comp. But you can tell Real Co is not happy about it as they have no mention of it on their social media. Watch mls next give the bid to a near by competitor |
lol. It’s greed. They have two girls ECNL teams and one is really bad in all ages… |
