Who are going to be the best teams next season?

SJC will never get to schedule anyone local in dc outside of the WCAC. They’ve screwed themsleves over with their antics and have basically blackballed themselves from dmv lax! I think the irony in it all is funny as hell!

They’re both excellent teams. I think it will come down to mindset and who wants it more. Gonzaga is probably slightly better, but they tend to lose their confidence when they fall behind.

Gonzaga has a big senior class on this roster… this is their year.

Eagles bring it back to Eye Street tonight

For next year, I still see the top five as the same - Landon, SJC, Prep, Bullis, and Gonzaga.

Landon and Gonzaga probably slightly down (given the graduation of their 24 classes)

SJC and Bullis probably slightly up (as the Bullis 25 class and the SJC 26 class gets a year older)

Prep (probably around the same).

So I’d go

1. Bullis
2. SJC
3. Prep
4. Gonzaga
5. Landon

But all five teams in the mix for best in the area. It will be interesting to see if Good Counsel or DeMatha can make a leap.

To be honest, I think sjc pulls away with the win. Sjc seems to have the utmost of confidence compaired to the very streaky eagles. I think sjc takes it in another blow out win.

Pre-season 2025 Projections:

1. SJC: The Cadets are fairly young this year given the number of 2026 kids playing big minutes. Cadets are the best-coached team in the land.
2. Landon: The Bears have a very underrated 2025 class and are extremely well-coached. Look for several kids in their 2027 class to emerge next spring.
3. Bullis: They have the best 2025 class in the land but Bulldogs lack depth. The Bulldogs will go as far as Jackson Mahar can take them. If Bullis doesn't hire an OC for next season or expect another disappointing season on Falls Road.
4. Gonzaga: The Purple Eagles are always littered with athletes and have plenty of depth however they graduate an excellent 2024 class.
5. Prep: The Lil Hoyas will take a big step back next Spring as they graduate several key starters. Hoyas didn't have much depth this year and it showed. Their JV team was the worst it's been in decades. Expect the Hoyas to hit the transfer portal and bring in some boarders to plug in the holes.

DeMatha graduates a ton, not to mention they need to hire a new coach, yet again...

Good Counsel showed in the WCAC semi-finals they might have been all hype this year.

PVI should take a step forward under 2nd-year coach as the panthers were very young this season.

With its boarding capabilities, Episcopal could emerge as a potential dark horse in the IAC.

Will WCAC championship be streamed tonight?

1. SJC - Should be very strong again. Recruited really well off the 21 and 22 team.
2. Landon - All of defense return, 2nd and 3rd line middies all return. 2nd leading goal scorer returns. 27's won't contribute at all except maybe the lsm.
3/4. Prep - See Bullis, but returning 2 sophomore attacks. Hard to tell if they have any bench because the coach doesn't play any bench.
3/4. Gonzaga - 2nd in the IAC again
5. Bullis. Sometimes the players aren't as good as their reputations. Really, really thin bench.

All the pressure is on Gonzaga tonight. As in the regular season, they are expected to win. They clearly have superior talent but the talent didn't show in the first match. And they were outcoached.

Good Counsel is the strongest team to have a chance to crack the top 5 next year.

Not happening.... they were senior heavy all over the field. Nothing until 2027 class matures.

While the rankings aren't perfect, I trust these polling committees to have more visibility and insight into the quality of lacrosse being played in the various regions.

I do hope the Bears and Cadets can get a game on the books in the Spring of 2025 and the coaching staffs can set aside their differences.

No chance. The schools are diametrically opposed in how they view sports.

What does this mean? Can you outline how these schools "view sports" and how those views are "diametrically opposed"? Both athletic departments have pretty good reputations. I have no idea what your comment means, but am definitely curious.

Gonzaga has a big group of seniors in this 2024 class.

They need to get it done tonight.

They were out coached 10 days ago.
