ICE officers have federal immunity in the conduct of their law enforcement duties. Anybody who lays a hand on them or tries to stop them or tries to obstruct them is committing a federal felony.
They have immunity to perform their duties, and no one—no city official, no state official, no illegal alien, no leftist agitator or domestic insurrectionist—can prevent them from fulfilling their legal obligations and duties. The Department of Justice has made clear that if anyone - including state officials - cross that line into obstruction, into criminal conspiracy against the United States or against ICE officers, then they will be arrested, indicted, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. |
Federal officers don't have blanket immunity. Try again. |
About time. |
Not true. Why are you repeating lies? You think we're dumb enough to believe that? |
What? That’s categorically not true. No person working for the federal government has immunity. This is the United States and public servants are accountable to the people they serve. That includes ICE and everyone else at DHS. |
This is incorrect propaganda. |
Yes. It's obvious we're at the mercy of those goons. But things will change. Trump won't be in office forever. When he leaves office, these animals will face the music. |
They are hoping that both people and the agents believe it. |
Omg is JD Vance posting on DCUM? We all know VP is a fake job, but still!! |
The ICE employees will be treated the same as Trump treats everyone else. As soon as they become a liability they will be thrown under the bus so fast it will make their heads spin. |
Yes, assaulting, resisting, or obstructing ICE officers during their duties is a federal felony (18 U.S.C. § 111), and DOJ can prosecute state officials or others for serious interference. But no, ICE officers do not have blanket "federal immunity." They have qualified immunity in civil suits and Supremacy Clause protection against state interference, but they can still be prosecuted (federal or sometimes state) if they act unlawfully. |
This is not legally accurate at all. However, the reality is that the Trump DOJ will never prosecute anyone. And Trump will try to preemptively pardon everyone. And that raises the question of whether accepting that federal pardon will open up risk to state prosecution. In any event, it will be 3 years before these questions are answered. |
No one has immunity from an unwarranted murder of a civilian without cause. And there was no cause in this case. Don't worry, Stephen, the law will come for you as well one day. |
