I see it a little differently. We are living in a time when there’s a lot of injustice in the world - no matter what side of the political aisle you are on, people feel like their side is getting screwed. It seems like many people were so invested in this case because it was just so patently unfair.

Blake was obsessed with her reputation tanking and the bad press. She couldn’t let go or see that it would pass. What will stand out to me the most from all of this is Taylor’s text to her in early December 2024 saying essentially you need to let this go and step back from this. I miss my friend. then how they thought it was all going to be over once the times article came out. Never seen a faster uncanceling. But no, it didn’t go away did it? Justin had the opportunity to get his story out. People are going to double down and believe whatever side they want to believe but there’s no putting the genie back in the bottle and we have seen a side of Ryan and Blake that they did not want to see. They embarrassed a lot of people with the documents that came out.

They aren’t going away, but they’re public persona has definitely changed, locking down comments and not engaging with fans, no more of the fun social media banter, and Ryan won’t be carrying a huge franchise again.

I don't think her cause was important enough to embarrass her friends with the publication of their private messages. I don't know how one comes back from that, friendship-wise.

I truly can’t believe how many personal text messages and emails we were privy to. It’s just such a rare glimpse into that world. The Sony executives trashing her, the texts between her and Taylor, Matt Damon lol.

At the end of the day, no one had messages that were career ruining (beyond Blake and Ryan just cause they came off obsessive and unhinged) but I can’t imagine what a violation it must’ve felt like to know that your text messages are out and you are a big celebrity. Taylor’s image is so, so curated. That’s why I don’t think they’ll ever come back from this friendship wise.

What I don’t understand and what I truly hope comes out eventually is the backstory on what they were advised. Surely their lawyers and PR team must have said as much as you want tag and Abel and whoever’s communications to come out showing their PR strategy, yours are going to come out as well. And your friends are going to come out as well.

I just don’t get.

What’s all so fascinating is the whole celebrity “I don’t go on the Internet! I don’t know how many followers I have! I’m barely online!” They’re all obsessed with what people are saying and thinking about them. It sounds so exhausting. I won’t say I was naïve before, because I basically knew this, but to have it all out in front of you repeatedly for months and months was really jarring.

Celebs, they really are as petty and insecure as us commoners- maybe even more so. Crazy crazy celeb scandal. I think it’ll be a while before we get another one this big.

Agree with all of this. It’s nothing we didn’t already know, but to see the proof is still astonishing. It’s not just BL and RR who look bad. It’s Taylor, Matt Damon, Colleen Hoover etc etc etc etc etc. Hollywood is so gross.

If you were "astonished" to find out celebrities were fake, vapid, and shallow, I don't know what to tell you. Wherever did you even get that idea?

You are talking to more than one person. I’m the poster you called redundant and then there’s someone who responded to me. Two different people.

But either way, we both said we knew this, but it was jarring to have it unfold in front of us over several months.

It's extremely weird to be surprised that celebs are fake. Almost as weird as waking up one day and deciding you're going to leave Blake Lively a nasty message telling her what you really think of her.

DP one thing that did surprise me in the texts was how they have to kiss each others' butt even there. "You're the best friend ever!!!" "No YOU are, you're the coolest person in the world!!!" It's really cringe.

Isn't that Baldoni's whole schtick?

What is his schtick? I know little about JB. But if he is against celeb worshipping, then no wonder she hated him

He is everything you claim to detest.

It's also very weird to read these long posts declaring a hatred of celebrity worship and parasocial relationships in this specific thread.

I have a suspicion that at least some of the Baldoni stans arrived at this case after Depp/Heard ended. I know, I know, I will be told that ACTUALLY the Baldoni supporters were on Amber Heard's side the whole time! Whatever. I feel pretty confident that there's some overlap in the people who rabidly posted about how much they hated Amber Heard (called her a liar, claimed Depp was the true victim, etc.) all throughout that trial, and the people who have been caping for Baldoni (and hating Lively, calling her a liar, claiming Baldoni was a the true victim, etc.) this time around.

So who's next? What woman will the fixate on as the root of all evil, and what problematic man will they decide is actually a hero?

Nope. We would happily forget about her

Yes! I will happily forget about her forever while also refreshing this thread every 20 seconds and posting compulsively about this woman I simply don't care about at all! Exactly.

I don’t like for a- holes to get away with being a-holes. Guess I have a strong sense of justice. So I’m glad she and her gross husband have been revealed.

Me too, but that's why I dislike Baldoni, Sarowitz, Wallace, and Team TAG. I don't even care for Lively that much, but it's fun seeing them burn.

Same. I've never really liked her as an actress but it's obvious to me that she's not the villain here (I view Baldoni more as a useful idiot, but the other three are absolutely villains). She'll go back to making movies I don't see and sometimes wearing an outfit in public worth looking at even if I don't love it. I'm perfectly fine to watch Team Baldoni collapse under the weight of their own hubris here.

I agree. I really don't like that Baldoni and co tried to smear her. And tonight on the red carpet, she looked relieved. The settlement makes all the parties happy, except perhaps the lawyers. It was a good moment for her, and her dress was very much the style she likes (I love the texture, but not the colors).

Essentially this whole mess has gone away, which is a good thing.

Nope, can’t turn back time. Tried to destroy the reputation of others and ruined that of her and Ryan instead

Everyone is talking about what a pathetic narcissist she is.

Everyone isn't, though. I mean, the rabid Baldoni fans on Reddit and a few of you here. But most people I know don't care at all and will have totally forgotten there was a lawsuit within a week or two.

I am personally disappointed in the settlement -- I wanted to get the trial to learn more about what happened. But if the goal today was to turn the page, I think Lively effectively did that.

You’d be wrong. Every picture of her tonight on social media has many many negative comments. The public hates her, organically.

The “public” meaning the type of people who spend their time posting mean comments on social media? Who cares what they think? I don’t know anyone who wastes their time doing that.

She does, that.’s what the entire lawsuit was about. Her intense unpopularity.

Yet she hasn’t gone away. Just as people thought they would never see or hear from her again. She probably haunts them in their dreams too.

Did anyone really think this? It's one of the things I actually sort of like about Blake and Ryan. They seemingly take advice from no one, like when they showed up at SNL and joked about the lawsuit or when she was staging pap walks around the same time. Others would try to play it cool but they are absolutely unapologetic in their thirst and zero effs to give about what lawyers or image consultants or whatever have to say. There was no way they were ever going to blink away quietly into the night. Not their style and good for them.

Internet mobs are stunned to see how powerless they actually are. They thought posting negative and mean comments on social media for years like a job would actually work.

You are as dense as she is. It isn’t a “hate campaign,” people just don’t like her. And it obviously does bother her, hence the lawsuit and the millions she has spent on pr. And none of it will work, because she is completely tone deaf.

+100 it's the exact same thing playing out again. The same people fell for it again.

Yeah, sure. Keep telling yourself that.

It was the first gala sponsored by Bezos. It generally is getting pans for that reason. Partying while Rome burns and all that.

I don’t really care about any of these people, but this was an extremely frivolous lawsuit that backfired. Of course this would be the final outcome. Now everyone is trying to save face- even the internet randos.

Finally, most celebs in Hollywood are raging narcissists. If you’re caping for them, please do some deep soul searching and read up on parasocial relationships.

Wherever did you even get that idea?
.

Can you read? I said it’s nothing we didn’t already know.

Yeah you had lots and lots of redundant paragraphs saying the same thing. But again, what did you actually expect? You said it yoursel. You were naive. Maybe so deeper thought and introspection is warranted.

I don’t think anyone is surprised about celebs being fake, nor are they saying they are: What is surprising is that we got to see the evidence first hand.
