Finally! Someone highly intelligent and with "gravitas" speaks about this case in a logical, rational way.

| catching up with last winter's huff po? |
| Dershowitz is going senile. |
|
Not in the least -- he's sharp as a tack.
A voice of reason. He says that, in 50 years, he's never seen such one-sided coverage in the U.S. |
| Highly intelligent, gravitas, logical, rational -- and newsmax.com? |
| Duh. Amanda Knox did it. It is so obvious. As clear as the nose on Gonzo's face. |
| I'm not going to click on the link. Can someone summarize? |
Apparently he isn't familiar with DNA evidence, slipping in his old age. |
| Isn't he one who insists OJ was not guilty? |
| I see that this has already brought out the AK PR machine. |
You aren't paranoid at all. All of us who think she didn't do it are paid by the AK PR machine. I also earn some serious cash promoting Lands End here and elsewhere on the internet. |

Summary:
Dershowitz says: There's a lot of evidence that AK did it (murdered MK). That doesn't mean necessarily that she is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He discusses at least 5 significant pieces of evidence. He believes that she probably did it. We have an extradition treaty with Italy -- they have a pretty good justice system; while it's not perfect, neither is ours. In fact, Italy does a lot better than we do at not sending innocent, poor members of ethnic minorities to jail than we do. He stated that there are thousands of people in jail in this country who were convicted on far less evidence than there is in the Meredith Kercher murder case (against AK). Dershowitz said he's never seen such a one-sided media presentation by the U.S. media in 50 years practicing law. He says that people say things like: "there's no evidence" and cast aspersions on the Italian legal system that are false. He does not think that AK will be extradited, but says that legally, there's no reason why she shouldn't be. It won't happen, because of political reasons. She has not been subjected to "double jeopardy" in Italy; it's just a different system. AK is a pretty, young, American with an amazing PR campaign behind her, and people here are not interested in the evidence, because of that, in Dershowitz's opinion. Above all, says Dershowitz, we should not be holding up AK as a heroine, because she accused an innocent black man (her boss at her part-time job at a pub) of the crime. He was jailed, and it really messed up his life. |
I'd like to know the specific evidence he is relying on, because there actually isn't any. |

Click on link, for a (short) discussion of the evidence.
However, I'm 99.9% sure that 10:43 isn't interested in the facts. |

Here's a fun fact, and then I need to get back to real life . . . I just saw the the film director who did "Welcome to Sarajevo" and "A Mighty Heart" is wrapping a film loosely based on the Meredith Kercher murder case. It's based on Barbie Nadeau's book (I've read it), and Kate Beckinsale plays the journalist (similar to Barbie Nadeau) character.
Barbie Nadeau arrived in Perugia (she lives in Italy, and is fluent in Italian) the day after MK's body was discovered, and followed the case from that point on. She has been vilified (and even threatened) for her writings on this case. |
