Today my Boss gave me a written reprimand for being late twice without any Verbal Notification.
I decided to resign because I was being forced to sign my written reprimand in one day without being given ample time to respond. I refused to sign but decided to resign. I am so sad and disappointed because I have no job to go back to tomorrow. Sad and unemployed |
| Unwise. You should have just taken the reprimand. You could have even written "under duress" next to you signature. |
| You weren't forced to resign. |
| Can you even get unemployment benefits if you resign? |
| Wow!Sorry O.P. Do you have a family?Does your DH work? |
|
Wow, that was a HUGE mistake. I am not even sure if you'll qualify for unemployment since you CHOSE to leave.
You need to get COBRA, and go immediately to a psychologist to help you work through why on earth you would think an appropriate response to being told formally that you've been late twice is a reason for you to quit a job. Maybe while you're in therapy they can also help get your ego down to a manageable level. |
| Wow, extremely questionable judgment.... |
I think He/She can file for unemployment in VA.It's too bad but I wish you the very best. |
Wow! |
| I resigned and got unemployment. My boss was nasty and put her threats in writing. Gave those to unemployment, they told me I was right to quit and were really nice about it. |
Thank you so much! Finally a human being. |
I am sorry, OP. But how can you get unemployment if you quit? |
|
COBRA is ridiculously expensive.
Did you talk this over with your partner beforehand? Can you claim temporary insanity and beg for your job back? I'dbe having a panic attack if I were you unless you're independently wealthy and/or DH is so p*ssy-whipped he doesn't care about you making extreme financial decisions for the family. |
|
OP I am so sorry you are going through this. You must be scared. EVERYONE. MAKES. MISTAKES.
Can you call your boss and talk to him or her about getting your job back? Can you call and talk to someone from HR? It maybe time to dust off your resume, regroup and focus on getting a new job a.s.a.p. You need to as family and friends for emotional support right now. Good luck. |

OP, Sometimes the job is not worth the fight and sometimes it is. It usually depends on how much you have in the bank and how marketable you are. Good luck! |
