Get rid of Bagshot and Chequers and send that cash to families.

With the Russian oligarchs money tied up, who do you think is going to buy those dumps? Do you want the royals to dump all their land in Cornwall and the other duchies? Do you want the City of London to be torn down and send everyone to Soutwark to do stock trading?

Seriously, do you know anything about real estate?

I'm not seeing rage. Disdain and snark, yes. Frankly, all of my rage is expended on Putin these days.

I used to be able to compartmentalize my opposition to monarchy as a general principle and just enjoy the pageantry of it, the clothes, the adorable photos. (After all, it's not my government and tax money.) All of the scandals and bad, dysfunctional behavior of the royals, though, has killed the fun of it.

There is also a big overlap between monarchists in Britain and Brexiteers. The racist, xenophobic tinge of both just compounds the impression, so there is a bit of schadenfreude at seeing all of this play out.

Yes, this pretty much sums up how I feel.

I believe PP was making a rhetorical point.

I'm guessing you're the proud poster who has attended British soccer matches and recognizes the chin straps of an honor guard. (Or did you mean honour guard?)

Nah, just the poster who works for a company heavily involved in UK commercial real estate. Although I have attended British soccer matches and shagged a former Horse Guard when I worked in Dubai.

DP. So funny. You're trying to attack a poster for knowing something about British culture on the British Royal Family thread? Someone is out of place but it's not PP.

It was a comment on attitude, not knowledge. But again, whoosh!

Anonymous wrote:Why on earth would any woman sign up for this?

Not only sign up, but actively chase it………

Because it wasn’t just for her it was for the whole Middleton clan. Without Kate being royal Pippa wouldn’t have been able to marry someone like James Mathews and without him James Middleton would have no suckers to invest in his latest flop. Carole and (can’t remember the dad’s name) would also not have been able to afford their current place which William broke his trust to pay for. It actually makes sense.

Wait, link? I feel like this can’t be true. Though it would be hilarious if it were.

Also agree, so I guess +3.

…can’t wait to see what you all have to say about this

They're going to get that article deleted so quickly heads spin. Do I believe Kate would declare war and move out during a Jubilee year? Absolutely not. Do I feel that 4th house, which is a substantial downgrade however you look it, is just for her and the kids - absolutely. There's no way William is moving into the shack.

If true, I'm genuinely shocked. I thought she'd suck it up forever.

I think it's already gone.
