The US has pushed other countries toward China. Do you remember the trade war? Liberation Day? |
| Guess it isn’t all bad news. Unemployment rate for foreign born workers remains 4.2% same as last year. |

Gift article from NY Times regarding the negative impact deportations are having on US citizens/residents jobs. In construction, every 1 deportation costs the jobs of 6 legal US citizens/residents.

His poorly thought out white supremacist economic model is killing industries and losing American jobs. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/19/realestate/trumps-deportations-are-costing-americans-jobs.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share |
| The Neo Nazis/bigots/Republicans need to understand our economy does better without white supremacy. |
You lose credibility when you decide to hate everything, even good things, just because they are associated with "the other side" |
This makes perfect sense. If you think about a construction site, there are a bunch of people with skills - carpenters, dry wallers, electricians, plumbers etc. And then there are the guys who are just hauling stuff, sweeping etc. If there are undocumented on site, it is usually that last category. When constuction falls apart because of deportations, then all of those folks are out of work. |
+1 yep. With the disaster that is the labor market, I’ve gone ahead and tabled our planned six figure renovation. The fact that some “proud Republican small business owner” might go a little hungry this year was a nice bonus. |
