| She needs to study Marshawn Lynch’s press conferences. The former NFL player would say repeatedly at press conferences statements like “I am here so I don’t get fined”. Before one super bowl he set a timer on his phone for 5 minutes, and repeated that phrase as he ate skittles. After 5 minutes he got up and left. |
| Naomi should stay off social media. Maybe hire someone to manage her Instagram account? Refocus on tennis, ignore people’s opinions of her, think of it all as a job, stop trying so hard to make changes, etc. |
They need to limit questions to tennis. A reporter asking about her race/mental health about media/Haiti etc. inappropriate. She said she only gets media because of her race, ever since she was little. She said I’m here about tennis, yet he continued to ask a question not related to tennis. |
So I would agree with this but for her activism about racial justice issues. You cannot shut down an entire tournament as a protest about racial inequality, wear face masks with the names of Black people who have been killed on court to your matches, and participate in glossy cover stories where you highlight your activism, and then say alright I only want to talk about tennis at my press conferences. |
This. |
Yes. Actually you can. It’s a press conference on a game day. It’s for tennis. If you want to cover other subjects plan a presser on another day. |

She is extremely talented but needs to get off of social media and stop reading her own press.
I'm not a famous person. But my colleagues and I do public speaking where people are invited to give feedback, review us. Most of it is harmless but some of it is absolutely, ridiculously nasty and vicious--mocking people's accents, looks, age, intelligence, etc.-- and this is from non-anonymous professionals, on their work accounts. I actually don't read ANY of it, because frankly 99 percent of the feedback isn't helpful and we keep getting work no matter what. Now imagine if you're a celeb and people are anonymous. Why would you read that stuff? None of it is constructive or helpful, really, and you can pay someone to manage it...or just don't do it, how much money do you need? |
Nope, she shut down a tournament in the middle of it and was wearing masks with the names of Black people who have been killed on court to her matches. She started purposely mixing her tennis with her activism because tennis is what gives her the platform. |
| She can go away now. Rest on her millions and fame. Do some commercials to get by. There are plenty of other athletes to take her place. |
I follow her on IG. She rarely even posts anything compared to other celebrities I follow. I wish she posted more. And I hate when celebrities have people managing their accounts. |
It’s clear she can’t take the heat so she should limit her exposure to others opinions of her. And I do appreciate how sincere and authentic she is, but not at the cost of her mental health and career. I think she should stop engaging. Keep playing tennis. Focus on tennis only. W Maybe when she is a bit more mature and thicker skinned, take up again with changing the world etc. |
And Tom Brady had a show with his kids on it yet reporters never asked about dumping his pregnant girlfriend or really anything related to his kids and when they tried he tore through them with all his might. |
