Have you noticed that the individuals involved in these types of crimes (both victim and murderer) are usually fairly attractive couples and often the murderer is engaged in an affair.

The ones that are publicized, you mean? It ups the public interest level when the people involved are rich and attractive.

So, are you saying that fat/unattractive people go missing under mysterious circumstances like this but the media doesn't report it because the missing person isn't attractive enough?

Lacy Peterson was pretty and she was white. Double whammy. If she had been black unfortunately it probably wouldn’t have gotten much press.

Here’s why. People are interested in unusual events. Unfortunately, an African American woman being killed or missing isn’t unusual to most people. They expect criminal activity from this group of people. It’s NOT expected for Ivy League graduates and married white women. So it’s newsworthy. If African Americans don’t have higher rates of violence then similar cases would also be on television.

It's not the police bringing these disappearances to the media's attention. It's the family members doing it. The police and media don't want to invade a missing person's privacy by making their disappearance public news UNLESS their family members insist that the person would never have left on their own accord and start posting missing person flyers.

What possible reason could his attorney offer for why Dulos and girlfriend were driving around dumping bags with items that have Jennifer's blood?

All they have to do is bring it back to the fact that there's no body and you can't convict someone of manslaughter without absolute certainty.

Rich people from Farmington, wealthy NY family, come on...if a woman who lived on Albany Ave in Hartford, the place where Fortis dumped all the bloody trash, had disappeared like this, it would not get this attention, because it is a poor and minority area.

That's the sad truth. Here's another case that's not being widely reported-a young pregnant (single and black) USPS letter carrier disappeared on her way to work several months ago in Chicago. Her bf is being not cooperative. I only know about this because I work for the USPS and they are still looking for her-but it didn't make big news like this.

Are you serious? This case is all over the media. I’m pretty sure a flyer isn’t going to bring back a woman whose ex and his girlfriend were captured on video disposing of 30 bags containing her blood.

Her union has, I'm in it too so that's how I knew about it. The USPS has also. On a local level, I get the impression that she's not a priority for law enforcement.

I was referring to the missing letter carrier. In Jennifer Dolus's case, yeah the police have ample evidence that she has been badly harmed and is most likely dead. They are looking for a body. But in the case of the pregnant letter carrier who simply vanished on her way to work what, if anything, is being done to bring attention to her disappearance?
