The single exception to this was that nobody wanted to have anything to do with Gonzaga. Whilst I’m sure the majority of Gonzaga students are excellent people, there was always a sizable minority that was brutish and constantly looking for trouble. Ask anybody that graduated from a so called big 3 during those years and they’ll echo the sentiment. Interesting to see that not much has changed.

Lol. Clearly you didn't go to school here.
I went to one of the DC "prep" schools in the 80's, and you are so wrong. First, no one called it prep school. Second, the Catholic HS kids always socialized together - no friction except sometimes between Gonzaga and SJC. Gonzaga was never on the outs. Third, the so-called "big three" and other non-Catholic privates were in a different social scene altogether. And no one called them the big three either.

Exactly! I went to one of the girls schools during that time and I completely concur with the second poster. The first poster is a pretender.

+1 catholic schools cannot be “prep” schools.

I went to GDS so you're all like aliens to me, but isn't Georgetown Prep catholic? You're saying that wouldn't be considered a "prep" school? Because real preppies are WASPs, or is there a technical distinction?

Note: no distinction as to religious affiliation

-1000 IPS grad here... your experience does not represent a community. Did you sign the Kavenaugh letter too... Mary Francis O'Connell.

Stop protecting bad behavior.

Just posted yesterday. This is bizarre. How could a recent grad with less than one year’s experience deal with chaperoning these retreats? Maybe they are adding staff. Is this a new position?

I could see a dozen or so “bad apples” acting in this manner but virtually every single kid on the retreat over the course of two days with no one noticing or telling the adults? No. This may be another Duke lacrosse or UVA fraternity story.

you are a moron. Another duke story? those boys were innocent.

That meant there were pictures on the walls where they punched holes, plates in those cabinets they tore off walls and toothbrushes in that bathroom where they ripped out a toilet. Not only did they do this in one afternoon, the went back the next day. Who does that???

Where are you getting all of the furnishing and decor detail? How are you concluding from the reporting that someone was actually living in the structure? I expect the building was far closer to abandoned than wheat you describe, but we do not have enough information to determine that.

This is what I don't understand.

How in the world could those PROPERTY OWNERS be so negligent in not pressing charges?

Because they were satisfied with their out of court settlement, made whole without having to wait for the wheels of criminal and civil justice to turn.

Fair poster, I would invite you to the read the article link from the Washington Post.

The homeowner returned home after being away and came back to her home while students were still inside.

Huh? They live on property with a religious retreat center. Gonzaga power players swarmed in with checkbooks 2 weeks ago.

Which would have been the property owner's goal had they sued civilly.

How can you assume that someone actually lives in the structure? Nothing in the reporting conveys facts upon which to base such a conclusion.

Why is it even relevant if the home were presently occupied. You low intellect Gonzaga buffoons never cease to amuse me.
