Allegedly he and she made a pact, that if one became rich and famous before the other, they wouldn't bother the one who hadn't made it yet - for money. Now, it looks like she would be the recipient of his estate, although there is one other sibling (perhaps estranged), and many other half siblings (I don't know if they count, or how much). If this is true, it really is a mess. I hope that they do right by him, given how talented and successful he was.

Tyka is his only full sister. He has 5 half siblings. From what I read all the siblings would split the money if there is in fact no will.

Is there no easy way to find out if someone has a will or trust?

I just read he had AIDS which would explain why the flu could have killed him, if he had the flu (from the Daily Mail and who knows how reliable that is). Supposedly had did have the hip operation years ago, but he was already addicted to Percocet. Who knows til we get the full report. I wonder if the family has any say in how much dirty laundry is aired. It's hard to tell what to believe, especially if he was still riding his bike around. It just sucks that his music was a source of joy and now it's tainted. I'm hoping he died of a heart attack. I read for snacks his chef made quesadillas and mozzarella sticks.

A lawyer who drew up the will or trust would have to step forward and say it exists - or potentially a named executor (again if he/she knew they were named).

Prince had dozens of lawyers on his payroll - none of them have yet said they assisted with estate planning.

I think this is hyperbole. I believe Prince's music was formative for many people and he touched a lot of lives. How he dies won't diminish this at all.

Found this article from a month ago while looking for something else - Prince had a memoir in the works. I wonder if we will ever see it.

Exactly. He must have been in a lot of pain to have been taking all those pain meds. When he was in top form the man had an energy about him that was just contagious. Apparently his body had stopped cooperating with that vibrant soul inside of it. He was in physical pain so he took those pills in order to keep his body going and he just took one too many.

I know that folks are upset that he's gone but he was sure amazing while he was here. And he has left his music for us all to enjoy.

Did you know all along that your close friend was peronsal chef, or did you just find out? Because in the 2nd article the chef says he signed a confidentiality agreement and that even his close personal friends did not know he was working for Prince.

I was speaking personally that right now the music, although still as good as ever, makes me sad knowing he's no longer around.

I don't know if it's true or not. I read an article written by someone who went to Prince's house to interview him and the author stated that was the snack and Prince had a chef. I don't remember now what article it was.
