None of this is a joke people.

Running OUR country is not some Trump vanity project.

X1000 Heads need to be rolling tomorrow.

WTF? DCA is fine.

The military helicopter was the issue here, people.

Praying for all these people and their families—and also especially for the search and rescue/recovery teams as they will never be the same. Such a traumatic experience.

How horrific. I can’t even imagine. I truly have no words. Shame on that reporter for making him show his text messages at a time like this. This man is clearly in shock.

Agree, my stomach dropped when they asked him to show the text message. It’s almost like the reporter thought this guy was too calm and didn’t believe him, not realizing this guy is in shock.

It’s almost like the reporter was…doing their job. Trust but verify. Because yes, there are pranksters who lie and then the news hurt their own credibility putting out a hoax and disinformation.

The video looks like the helicopter did not slow down and crashed in to the plane.
Remember helicopters can stop, go sideways, up, down and backwards.

Yes, but there will be coordination with a separate military investigation.

Correct. This is always the case.

The FAA has been understaffed and underfunded for decades. New cuts would be extremely dangerous.

They’re doing training flights over a heavily populated area around the busiest runway in the U.S.?

Doesn’t seem wise.

They do it all day every day. Spend some time on the Mt Vernon trail and you’ll see tons of helicopters - Army, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard all run helicopters up and down the river for training. Sometimes you’ll see a police helicopter (DC or Park Police) but they usually have a good reason to be there.

Yep. I live in Arlington and drive to and from DC every day- right along and across the Potomac We have seen more helicopters than usual lately. Yesterday at 2:30pm we were driving in to pick up my kid and my husband noted the giant military helicopter - over head—bigger than what we usually see

Is this due to the new dipsh@ts running things?

When Trump left office last time, chopper traffic decreased by a LOT where I live in Maryland.

I was near the WH when he was in office and a Black Hawk zipped by maybe 25 feet above the water and right in front of us. We were on shore. That didn’t seem safe. Now I think maybe it was “training.”

They obviously needed more training.

Wonder why they would do a training flight at night in very restricted air space by a very busy airport? Watching channels 4 they shows the helicopter traveling from east to west over the river towards National. If the helicopters continued its course would have taken it over the runways at National.
