Yes, last night. Basil Smikle was taking about it on MSNBC last night. |
Like I’ve said, you’ve got the internet, read her website. For me, for my husband, for every parent of a daughter I know, it would be sufficient to vote against Trump to protect our bodies and our children. You want more? Start reading. |
You realize that millions of women agree with Dobbs, right? |
Yup. “After a Sunday night organizing call led by Black women had record attendance and fund-raising, a group of Black men organized a similar call on Monday evening. More than 40,000 attended and raised roughly $1.3 million for Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign, according to organizers of the group, Win With Black Men.” https://www.nytimes.com/live/2024/07/23/us/harris-trump-news-election-biden?smid=url-share#8a727416-0457-5a23-924d-fe824541de1b |
The Dems don’t know how to read the room. They can’t fathom that most Americans agree that federal dollars shouldn’t fund abortion and abortion should be left to the states and banned after the first few months. The Dems are crazy and think most of the country agrees abortion should be federal law and made legal even to the 9th month if need be. Most Americans do not agree with the Democrats about abortion at all |
Actually 54,000 men participated. |
Is that why Rs keep losing on this issue? Kentucky, Wisconsin, etc. Dems are kicking Rs azz on this issue. |
Millions of women agree with Dobbs. Many millions more do not. That’s why when it’s been put up to a vote, abortion rights have won on the ballot initiatives. Even in deep red states. Because women want to make medical decisions with their doctors, not their rapists. |
Protect from what? Look at the state of this country and the world after 4 years of democrats running things. |
You'd think that the GOP would actually want to run on it, then. Instead, they're hiding from it and lying. But if you think it's a winning issue, it's something to get excited about this Fall I suppose. |
Good. Get the youth vote out! |

Most Americans believe that abortion should sometimes be illegal and sometimes be legal. Most think it is sometimes immoral, and sometimes acceptable. But here’s the thing: Most Americans also agree with the substance of the Republicans’ 2022 “national abortion ban,” according to the latest Gallup Poll. Gallup’s writers chose to tout the post-Dobbs shift in favor of abortion in this poll, but even after this shift, here’s a telling fact: only 37% of Americans believe that abortion should be legal in the second trimester, while 55% say it should be illegal. Lindsey Graham’s proposed “national abortion ban” kicked in at 15 weeks. The poll asked about the “second three months of pregnancy,” which begins in the 13th week. Again, this isn’t new. Gallup has always found that a majority believe second-trimester abortions should be illegal. So why would the public turn against the GOP for advancing a bill to ban second-trimester abortion when the public — by a nearly 20-point margin — thinks second-trimester abortions should be illegal? Again, it was spun by the Democrats and the national news media. “National abortion ban” sounds like a total abortion ban. And the left-leaning major news media, where more than 90% of reporters and editors are far left on abortion, generally adopted the Democrats’ spin. Check out this CNN story. It simply adopts the Democrats’ poll-tested wording in the headline, and makes you read until paragraph 11 to learn that the ban only kicked in when the baby was 15 weeks in gestation. Most Americans are not where the pro-life movement is, believing that the government has a duty to protect human life, even in its earliest stages. But most Americans are where congressional Republicans are: wanting to ban abortion after the first trimester. |
The Dems are going to regret handing Harris the nomination so quickly. I'm a Dem and I'm i
Pissed. I'm insulted that the machine assumes it can just plug and play some other candidate and us Dems will just fall in line. Harris is not the right candidate. I'm staying home in November. |
Why I'm voting for Harris:
1. Harris is fit to be president and not in cognitive decline 2. Harris doesn't incite hate crimes against immigrants and BIPOC 3. No chance Harris will direct the FDA to remove authorization for abortion pills which are critical to women's health. Trump will face a lot of pressure to do this. 3. She supports tax breaks for the middle class, not tax breaks that primarily benefit wealthy people 4. Her background in law enforcement means she actually understands the law and policing and can push for reforms that make sense and not just be reactive to progressive activists |
The last thing Kamala needs to do is run on Roe v Wade and “saving democracy from Trump”. She was unelected and didn’t face a primary . That’s not democracy |
